Foodies & Fun Lunch Club brings cooks and bakers together to trade tips, swap recipes, and enjoy conversation around a shared theme. This session highlights salads, with each participant contributing a dish that fits the topic and offering the recipe for others. Please arrive with your food ready to serve, along with a serving utensil, since the library cannot heat items. The library provides plates, utensils, and water. Bringing a dish is required to take part in the tasting. A small container for leftovers is helpful. Enjoy a live performance at Milk Street Distillery featuring a mix of roots sounds, blues, and rock and roll.

ISD hosts a monthly psychic fair featuring a rotating lineup of gifted mediums and psychics with a wide range of services. Recognized as Sussex County’s original fair, it has welcomed the community for more than three decades. Guests can book 15 minute sessions, with the option to enjoy a reading and receive a healing while waiting, or the reverse. Pricing is per session at $30 for members and $35 for nonmembers, and payment is taken at the door at the time of booking. All readings are provided for entertainment purposes only. This fair takes place on the last Friday of every month.

Enjoy a friendly storytime with a therapy dog from Creature Comfort, where children can listen to a few stories and spend time with the dogs. A parent or guardian must stay with their child for the entire program.

This weekly luncheon social brings neighbors together in the Parish Hall at St. John's Church to share a free meal, conversation, and community. Halloween Weekend #2 coincides with Columbus Day Weekend and brings a full slate of seasonal fun at the campground. RV and tent campsites are available, along with rentals that include cabins, luxury tents, and park model trailers. Activities feature hayrides to a pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting, trick-or-treating, and a parade of decorated golf carts. Entertainment and hands-on projects include magic shows, crafts, and ceramics, plus tournaments in cornhole, disc golf, and pickleball. Guests can create a Kymer’s Pet or decorate a trick-or-treat bag. The NJ Snake Man Animal Show and hayrides after dark round out the festivities.

GOAL Bowling brings a girls-only Junior Gold qualifier to Sparta Lanes, marking the northernmost stop of its inaugural season. The tournament is designed for female youth bowlers competing against their peers and is within practical reach for athletes across the region, including approximate drives such as 37 miles from Newark, 47 from New York City, 66 from Allentown, 77 from Scranton, 79 from Hempstead, 81 from Trenton and Poughkeepsie, 99 from Philadelphia, 116 from New Haven, 133 from Binghamton, 137 from Wilmington, 143 from Albany, 145 from Harrisburg, 149 from Hartford, and 174 from Springfield. Junior Gold berths will be awarded at a 1 to 4 ratio in each division, with partially paid spots offered when entry counts are not divisible by four. Bowlers who accept a partial spot also receive a small SMART scholarship. Additional SMART awards include runner up scholarships in every age group for athletes who narrowly miss qualifying or who had already earned a berth, and a separate scholarship pool based on all division handicap scoring that every participant can compete for. The field is capped at 50 bowlers overall, with no more than 24 in any single division. Entry fees for GOAL members are U12 $70, U14 $85, and U16 and U18 $100. Nonmember pricing is U12 $80, U14 $95, and U16 and U18 $110, and the additional $10 from nonmember entries is added to the handicap scholarship pool. A GOAL membership may be purchased for $20 at any point during the season and includes access to a season long points race that awards a scholarship winner in each age division. This four part series draws on the teachings associated with each cardinal direction, unfolding across All Roads East (2017) with Alt Country and Americana influences, Way Out West (2018) exploring indie folk, Deep South (2019) blending folk rock and pop, and True North (2021) offering a more intimate acoustic singer songwriter sound. Expect a warm, engaging set that traces this creative journey alongside familiar favorites.
