Kids Black Light Paint Night

Glow-in-the-dark painting combines with kid-friendly trivia for a creative night geared toward younger artists, and adults are welcome too. The space comes alive with black lights, flashing lights, and glow sticks, and every participant takes home a prize. A $20 registration includes a canvas, any paint colors you like, entry into the trivia games, treats at your table, and prizes. All materials are supplied along with step-by-step guidance, and your artwork will be ready to take home afterward, though it may still be a little wet so keep it flat with nothing touching it. Bring your favorite beverages. Class size is limited, and payment is required when registering. Capacity is set at six teams with up to three people on each team. Stained Glass Cardinal Workshop

Create and take home a stained glass cardinal in a relaxed, two-hour workshop. Guided by Erica Unterwoman of Aubergine Glass & Jewelry, participants learn the Tiffany stained glass method using copper foil and solder, then complete a bird ready to display. The session takes place at Latitude 42 Taphouse and includes one beverage for each participant. The cost is $70 per person. If you use reading glasses, bring them for the detailed work. Central New York AGAPE & KCSP Caregiver Connection Live at Horseheads Family Resource Center

Connect with fellow caregivers at a free, in-person parent support group at the Horseheads Family Resource Center. Created for adoptive, foster, and kinship families across Central New York, it serves participants from Broome, Cayuga, Chemung, Cortland, Madison, and Tompkins counties, with a convenient setting for Chemung County families. Sessions are facilitated by CNY AGAPE and KCSP staff who bring lived experience as foster and adoptive parents and as adult adoptees. Discussions explore topics such as understanding children’s behaviors, strengthening caregiver resilience, navigating school challenges, supporting social and emotional development, and considering therapeutic approaches alongside traditional parenting strategies. The group is intended for adult caregivers, and children may accompany their parents and play in the space while the meeting is underway. Horseheads Family Resource Center staff are available to assist with supervision, and caregivers can step out briefly to attend to their children if needed. During the summer months, the center provides lunch for youth.

Arc Golf Tournament 2026

The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler hosts its annual charity golf tournament at Willowcreek Golf Club in Big Flats. This four-person scramble includes check-in before a shotgun start, and the day concludes with awards and dinner. Glen Region SCCA - 2026 Solo Event #3

Glen Region SCCA’s third Solo event of the 2026 season returns to Arnot Mall. The course is planned for one of the former Sears lots near the Sears Auto entrance, with final lot details posted on the club website’s Solo Schedule. Any last-minute updates will be shared by email or on the Facebook page or group. The day follows a familiar rhythm with on-site registration, tech inspection, a drivers meeting, a novice course walk, competition runs from the first car through the last, then awards after cleanup. Depending on how many run groups are formed, the schedule may include either a dedicated lunch break or rotating rest periods. Pre-registration is handled through the online system, while payment, waiver signing, and final check-in are completed at the event. Entry fees are $45 for SCCA members and $60 for non-members, which includes an SCCA Weekend Membership. Event-day registration is available only for a limited window, and a short late-entry period may be offered with a late fee. SCCA members can use the digital Annual Waiver to speed up on-site processing.

After collecting all ten codes, bring the completed card to the Hilliard Family Stage, where children can dig in the sand for one dinosaur egg with a surprise inside. The 19th Annual Troop Ride is an approximately 100 mile motorcycle ride that benefits the USO at Fort Drum. Participants who pre-register online receive a free Troop Ride t-shirt.

2nd annual Missy Love Memorial tournament

This competitive, friendly softball tournament in Horseheads, New York is open to all ages and features teams of any experience level. I’m Dead. Now What? End-of-Life Planning Q&A Session

This informal end-of-life planning Q&A is presented by the Clemens Center and will take place in the Upper Lobby. Local financial and estate planning professionals will address topics from getting started to more complex family scenarios, including the differences between wills and trusts, how often to update important documents, ways retirement assets might support charitable giving with potential tax advantages, and strategies to protect assets from nursing home costs. The session is free with registration, and participation is limited to the first 25 people who sign up. Each household will receive a complimentary copy of the “I’m Dead. Now What?” comprehensive life planner to help organize contacts, legal matters, health decisions, financial details, final wishes, instructions, and other essential information. The discussion is led by Patrick J. Roth, Esq., CPA of Roth Elder Law, PLLC, along with CFS Group, Inc. and Sabrina Chilson, CFP, with a guest speaker from CareFirstNY to be announced.
