Sunrise Yoga at Hicks Nurseries
Begin the morning with fresh air and positive energy at a sunrise yoga session in the Hicks Nurseries courtyard. This uplifting vinyasa class is intended to ease stress, increase flexibility, and support circulation, so you finish feeling refreshed, energized, and ready for the day. The courtyard, surrounded by nature in the calm of a summer morning, offers a peaceful backdrop for practice. The cost is $25. Please bring your own mat. Registration is required.
Walking Club! Join Us This Summer.
Take a purposeful walk and practice simple movement exercises at specific locations around the hospital campus. Walking for 30 to 60 minutes a day is an easy way to support better health, and studies show it may help prevent Type 2 diabetes, cancer, and heart disease. The kickoff will feature a registration and information table in the rear parking area, along with free blood pressure screenings, exercise demonstrations, and giveaways. Breastfeeding Support Group
Connect with other parents at a free, peer-led breastfeeding support gathering guided by a certified lactation consultant. Babies from newborn through 12 months are welcome, and the conversation takes place in a relaxed, informal setting. All new moms are invited, no matter where they delivered. Registration is required; call Gabriella Gennaro at (516) 705-2434 to reserve a spot for you and your baby. Please plan to meet at Mercy Family Care Center, located next to the Emergency Department. Spanish language support is available.
STEP-BY-STEP KIDS SAILBOAT MIXED MEDIA PAINTING WORKSHOP
This step-by-step workshop for kids features a guided paint-along with an instructor. Participants use painting and collage materials to explore mixed media techniques while creating a sailboat-themed artwork. Each young artist completes a mixed media sailboat painting and takes it home the same day.
