Tang Guide Tour

Enjoy a guided visit that highlights the Museum and the exhibitions currently on view. The tour welcomes everyone, and guests are invited to keep exploring the galleries afterward at their own pace. These weekly tours are led by Tang Guides, many of them Skidmore College students trained as gallery ambassadors and tour leaders. Through the Tang Guides program, student participants are introduced to the Tang and the broader museum field, receive tour training, and gain hands-on experience engaging with visitors.

Music

The Soul Rebels

The Soul Rebels reimagine New Orleans brass band music with a modern edge. Powered by horns and percussion, they weave funk, soul, hip hop, and jazz into a punchy, stage-ready sound. The band balances tight, well-crafted arrangements with a loose, living energy, moving from sharp ensemble hits to spontaneous moments while keeping the groove locked in. Formed in New Orleans, this eight-piece set out to broaden what a brass band can be, drawing on radio and street influences alongside tradition. They have collaborated with Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, Katy Perry, Macklemore, and Robert Glasper, and have appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and NPR’s Tiny Desk. Their release Poetry in Motion continues that path, pairing deep rhythms with layered horn lines and a wide range of inspirations. On stage they deliver an electrifying, room-filling sound where feel matters as much as form.
