Cherry Blossoms Photowalk

Cleveland photographer Gabe Wasylko leads a spring photowalk centered on the fleeting cherry blossoms along the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath. The contrast of soft pink blooms with the canal’s industrial heritage and historic lock structures offers striking scenes, and the outing supports photographers at any experience level with practical guidance. Gabe shares his approach to composition and light while helping participants discover frames that reflect the spirit of the Towpath. Expect a guided stroll that encourages slowing down, looking up, and noticing the gentler textures of the season, along with ideas for pairing built elements with surrounding spring growth and an opportunity to photograph the blossoms before they fade. Comfortable walking shoes and lightweight gear are recommended. A 24-70mm lens works well for this setting, covering both wide views of the trail and tight details of individual flowers without swapping lenses. From sweeping landscapes to close-ups and water reflections, fresh images wait around many corners.

Cuyahoga Falls Fest 2026

Centered on Downtown Cuyahoga Falls and the Upper Gorge of the Cuyahoga River, this paddle gathering welcomes paddlers, spectators, and photographers to enjoy the urban riverfront and explore nearby businesses. Activities focus on time on the water as well as opportunities to experience the city on foot. The event is set at Sheraton Suites Akron/Cuyahoga Falls. This meet-up is intended for experienced whitewater boaters. The Upper Gorge can reach Class IV to V+ depending on flow, which calls for proper gear, advanced skills, and prior training. Participants are responsible for organizing their own groups, creating safety plans, and managing shuttle logistics. Weather and water levels can change, so consider alternate runs if conditions in the gorge are not a good match for individual abilities. There are no professional guides, instructors, formal trip leaders, or organized safety oversight. Each paddler assumes full responsibility for personal decisions, including assessing river conditions, choosing whether to run any section, selecting routes, and managing equipment and skills. Coordinators and volunteers are not providing guiding services, rescue support, or equipment. Whitewater paddling carries inherent risks, and only those who are experienced and properly equipped should participate. Updates are shared on the Cuyahoga Falls Fest page.

Joey Adams and more

Enjoy a night of roots-driven music with Joey Adams, Spencer Hutchison, and Ethan Butcher. Joey Adams, from Crooksville, Ohio, blends the grit of rock with country and bluegrass influences, crafting songs that balance driving guitars and tender ballads. He taught himself on his dad’s guitar, began writing at 18, and later built a following while in college in Wheeling, West Virginia, even turning an underage drinking citation at a Dierks Bentley concert into a song that caught on locally. He has been recognized as a rising artist in recent years, and releases like Deep End and Losing Sleep have drawn national attention. Ethan Butcher brings a neo-traditional country sound shaped by the storytelling of the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, leaning into Telecaster twang, fiddle, and steel rather than modern mainstream trends. He started writing at 15, has penned more than forty songs, released two EPs and a single, made a couple of radio appearances and one on a podcast, and often spends weekends in neighborhood bars mixing classic country favorites with his own originals. Spencer Hutchison rounds out the lineup. Dinner and drinks are available in The Rialto Living Room before the show. There is a $5 surcharge at the door for anyone under the age of 21.

The Holy Fire® III Karuna Reiki® at A Creative ApothaCare

Hosted at A Creative ApothaCare, this Holy Fire III Karuna Reiki class centers on the principle of Karuna, a Sanskrit term often translated as compassionate action and the intention to reduce suffering. Teachings describe a felt oneness with all beings that makes extending compassion to everyone both natural and sensible. Supporting the healing of others also benefits the self through that shared connection. In Buddhist tradition, compassion is most effective when paired with prajna, or wisdom. It is also taught that enlightened beings dedicated to ending suffering continually offer healing energy and guidance. As Karuna grows, receptivity to this support increases, which can quicken personal healing and deepen connection with the supreme being through Karuna Reiki. Participants must hold a Usui Reiki Master/Teacher certificate for at least six months prior to the class. Attendance at all three class sessions is required to receive a certificate. The fee is $400 per person, including all materials, Ignitions, and lunch for each day. Those who completed Reiki Master/Teacher with A Creative ApothaCare receive a discounted rate of $350.
