Bottles and Books Adult Book Fair

Browse a pop-up book fair for adults at UnHitched Brewing Company, where books, beverages, and conversation come together. Shop a curated lineup of more than 50 titles spanning fiction and nonfiction, with approximately four to ten copies of each available, priced between $10 and $15. Add to your haul with bookmarks, bags, keychains, and other reading accessories. For every $10 spent, you will receive a ticket for the Book Swag Raffle for a chance to win exclusive book swag, with the drawing taking place at the end of the event. Admission is free and no ticket is required. Cash and credit cards are accepted.

The Art of You

This six week course with Kim Bader is limited to 10 participants. It is free and open to the community and valued at $250 per person. Scholarships are provided thanks to an Arts Impact Award by Arts in Stark. Registration is required.

Spring Purification Sound Healing Journey

Settle into a restorative sound bath featuring crystal bowls, a gently guided meditation, and a rainstorm soundscape designed to support energetic renewal. The experience centers on cleansing and purification, moving through each chakra to release what is no longer needed so you can emerge feeling light, balanced, and refreshed. Rest comfortably on the floor, with a chair available upon request. Bring a yoga mat or blanket, a pillow, a journal and pen, water or another preferred drink, and any other items that help you feel at ease. Wear loose, comfortable clothing, and feel free to remove your shoes when you arrive. Participants often report less stress, clearer focus, emotional release, reduced anxiety, a more even mood, better sleep, relief from inflammation-related discomfort, and an overall sense of well being. The Dusk Dimension Last Call: Murder Mystery Dinner Theater

Settle in for an evening of intrigue as the Greater East Canton Community Development Association presents a murder mystery dinner theater experience featuring a quirky cast of characters to meet along the way. A buffet dinner is included, with fried chicken, sausage and peppers identified as gluten free, vegetarian lasagna, seasoned potatoes, green beans, salad, a roll, and dessert, with a gluten free dessert option available upon request. Drinks are available for purchase at the cash bar.

The Spot DIY Music Hub Presents....Strings & Stories

Strings & Stories, presented by The Spot DIY Music Hub, brings a night devoted to solo performances from Stormi Montana (TX), Skeleton Drive, Trash Hag, TVY, Jason Haude, and Corey Ficker. Each artist will deliver an individual set, creating a straightforward showcase of solo acts from start to finish.

GOAT Performance + 60th Anniversary Gala

An evening in support of Canton Ballet pairs the Greatest of All Time performance with a 60th anniversary gala, celebrating the artistry, heritage, and impact of one of Ohio’s longest-standing independent ballet organizations. Presented by Henry “Ty” Neading and Laura Neading, the program features a curated selection of works drawn from six decades of the company’s history. After the performance, the celebration continues in the Great Court with an open bar, live music by Tony Quarles & The Discovery Band, exceptional cuisine from Spice, a live auction, and plenty of time on the dance floor. A gala-level ticket is priced at $150 and includes general admission to the performance and entry to the post-show celebration with all hospitality amenities. A gala table is $1,500 and includes access to a VIP red carpet reception, premium seating for eight at the performance, and a reserved table at the gala, along with the open bar, food, live music, live auction, and dancing. Alice in Wonderland: Story Ballet

At Canton South High School Performing Arts Center, A Time to Dance Junior Company presents a family friendly story ballet inspired by Alice’s adventures after chasing the White Rabbit into Wonderland. The tale unfolds through a range of dance styles designed to entertain all ages. The company is a youth ballet ensemble based at A Time to Dance studio in North Canton, Ohio, dedicated to developing young dancers through supportive, rigorous training and meaningful performance opportunities that share dance with the community. The performance lasts about two hours and features an intermission of roughly 20 minutes. Tickets are $15 for ages 9 and up and $10 for children 8 and under. Groups that buy 10 or more tickets together for the same performance receive a 10 percent discount. All sales are final with no refunds or exchanges, and electronic purchases include a $0.90 service fee. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the studio or online. Before each show, treats, souvenirs, raffles, and flowers for performers will be available for purchase. This production is presented by A Time to Dance Junior Company with support from A Time to Dance Studio and the Junior Company Parent Association.

John Waite

John Waite performs live at the Lincoln Theatre, showcasing the songs that defined his career. Best known for the number one single "Missing You", he draws on more than forty years of music from his solo work and his tenure fronting The Babys and Bad English. Recognized around the world, he brings a set of classic hits and high-energy rock.

2026 Canton Prom

Break out formalwear and dancing shoes as this celebration returns to the Historic Onesto Event Center. The evening supports the Palace100 Expansion Project and features emceeing and music by Nikolina DJ Diva from Q92. Guests can capture keepsake photos, sample a dessert assortment, enjoy an open bar, and try their luck in a raffle. A highlight is the crowning of the 2026 winners, with the prom court featuring Jordan and Makaela Miller, Leah and Allison Michalos, LaMar and Brandi Sharpe, and Mike and Cathy Stein. Working Gardens: First Sale of the Year!

Kick off the season with the first planned plant sale of the year. Early items will be posted as they become available, and because spring can be unpredictable there is a chance an earlier sale could happen. Early sales often highlight spring ephemerals at their peak, with warmer weather plants added as the season progresses. A plant list and further updates will be shared as the season moves forward.

This event features a relaxed stroll through the park with K.E.E. Coffee. It is a simple and friendly gathering centered on walking together outdoors.

Kimble Career Fair- Canton

Kimble is holding a Canton career fair focused on hiring CDL drivers, diesel mechanics, heavy equipment operators, and customer service representatives. Attendees can meet the team, discuss open roles, and get questions answered in person. Mixed Doubles Pickleball Tournament and Fundraiser

Mixed doubles teams compete at the Louisville Area YMCA in a pickleball tournament that supports the Louisville Rotary Club Community Grants Program and additional local initiatives. Play is organized by both skill and age, with brackets for 3.5 and below for any age and for players 55 and older, plus 3.6 and higher for any age and for players 55 and older. A High School Division is open to any combination of gender and level. Registration is $50 per team for early entry or $60 per team for regular entry, with the early option working out to $25 per player. A $10 discount is available with the coupon code EarlyBird.

Book Sale

Browse hundreds of books along with DVDs and other audiovisual items at this recurring book sale. It is held on the last Saturday of each month from March through October. Each sale features a special deal. Payment is by cash or check only. The book sale room is located diagonally across the street from the main Massillon Public Library.

Stark County Local History & Genealogy Fair

Explore Stark County’s past at the annual Stark County Local History & Genealogy Fair. Local historical societies, heritage organizations, genealogy groups, museums, and area collectors come together for conversations and exploration. Attendees can connect with representatives from more than 20 organizations to learn about local resources and find new ways to experience history. Whether starting out or well into research, participants will find helpful information and connections. This edition also honors two milestones, Massillon’s 200th anniversary and America’s 250th, spotlighting the people, places, and stories that shaped the city and the nation.

Mom & Me Private Chunky Hand Knit Blanket Lesson

Share a cozy, hands-on Mom and Me experience focused on crafting chunky hand knit blankets without needles. No prior experience is required. All materials are provided to make two soft blankets measuring about 60 by 40 inches, along with three hours of beginner friendly guidance that includes one on one time for moms and daughters to learn, laugh, and create together. Participants choose the date, time, colors, and a sweet treat. Pick a dozen fresh baked chocolate chip cookies or a decorating kit with icing, sprinkles, and sugar cookie shapes. The price includes supplies for two blankets and one box of cookies. Recommended for ages 10 and up.

Monster Truck Wars

Watch giant monster trucks compete on a fast track. There will be earth shaking, ground pounding, and high flying excitement. There are matinee and evening events. A VIP pre-show meet and greet pit party with a kids zone is available before each show. You can also get autographs from the drivers after the show.

Ohio Record Breakers

Ohio Record Breakers, sanctioned by Strongman Corporation, presents a five-event challenge designed to stretch capabilities and showcase peak strength. Competitors will pursue state records and opportunities to qualify for the next level while results determine who stands strongest in Ohio. Additional event specifics will be announced.

Plant Bingo: Mother's Day Edition

A plant-themed bingo celebration for Mother’s Day takes place at Buckeye Craft & Home Décor. Two sessions are available with limited capacity, and a $25 payment holds a spot. There will be shopping opportunities, and all participants leave with a new plant and an accessory. Reservations can be made through Venmo or Cash App.

Bike Rodeo

A free Bike Rodeo for young cyclists is hosted by Cub Scout Pack 257. Complimentary bike check and maintenance clinics are provided by the team from Ernie’s Bike Shop. Riders can try a skills course to build agility, then visit safety stations that cover hand signals, basic first aid, safe riding habits, and traffic rules. A pre-ride checklist session shows how to inspect a bike before each trip. Complete the bike passport to receive a free hot dog and water. Community partners include Massillon Police, Fire, and EMS, Ernie’s, Stark County Bicycle Club, Stark Parks, Safe Kids, and Stark County Health. Bring a bike and a helmet. Weather permitting, with no rain date.

Sweet Spring Door Hanger Paint Night

Celebrate the season with a creative paint night at Meldrums focused on crafting a fresh spring door hanger. Choose a design such as an umbrella, birdhouse, flowers, lemonade, ice cream, or a popsicle, and include your selection when reserving seats. Registration requires a nonrefundable 20 dollar per person deposit to cover the advance work of cutting and sanding each wood piece. The class fee is 50 dollars and includes your handcrafted wood door hanger, all paints and supplies, and guided instruction throughout. Each door hanger is individually cut and hand sanded, measuring approximately 16 by 24 inches and one quarter inch thick. Every piece is an original design handmade by Melissa Stark of Stark Art. Payment totals 50 dollars, with the 20 dollar deposit due at registration and the remaining 30 dollars in cash collected before painting begins. A-MAZE-ing Rat: Level 1

A-MAZE-ing Rat offers a playful training game that builds your dog’s puzzle-solving skills and puts their nose to work. This four-week Level 1 class helps teams learn the criteria for success and teaches dogs to work more independently away from their handler. No vermin-hunting experience is required. In Level 1, each dog has two minutes to navigate the maze and reach the end to find the rat. Handlers remain in the start box until the dog has entered the maze with all four paws, then may call and guide from outside. One fault is allowed. Spring Bird Walk

Head to the Nickel Plate Trail for a morning bird walk suited to beginners and experienced birders alike. Expect an easy outing on a level, paved path, and bring binoculars to make the most of the sightings. Meet at the trailhead. Group size is limited due to parking. DDPY classes at Peace Lutheran Church are available at no charge. Plan to bring a mat along with water and a towel, and dress in comfortable clothing suitable for movement. Donations are welcome but entirely optional, and any funds given support Peace Lutheran youth activities and outreach.

Military Nights

Hosted at Champ Makerspace, this meetup offers a welcoming space for the military community to learn something new, exchange skills, and connect across generations of service. Line Dance Lessons

Shower the Shelter Babies

Kitten season has arrived, and the shelter is preparing for a wave of newborns who need intensive, 24 hour care. This effort centers on stocking the nursery for fragile bottle fed kittens and young puppies so they have what they need to grow strong on their way to adoption. The summer edition of First Friday returns with a fresh theme celebrating the Music of Spring. Seven live acts will be spread across downtown Canton, with Lady Melma performing at Canton Centennial Plaza and additional performances by Matt Corey, Loel Stein, Rachel Shortt, Bob Frank, Samual John, and Rebekah Jean and Bryan Thomas. 2nd Annual Race for a Legacy 5K

The concert honors a trailblazing career that includes more than 100 million records sold and twelve Grammy Awards, including three Hall of Fame honors and a Lifetime Achievement Award. It also reflects milestones such as being the first Black artist and the first woman to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone, as well as two inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Critical Carry Skills

A focused two-day training experience for concealed carriers who want to sharpen essential defensive handgun skills when everything is on the line. Instruction from real-world practitioners emphasizes a mindset that turns deliberate practice into efficient, instinctive action under stress, with an emphasis on speed, precision, and confident gun handling. Participants work on safe firearm operation under pressure, the legal framework for the use of deadly force in New York (Article 35), and clear verbal commands that calm a situation or establish control. Practical drills include refining the draw from concealment to a fast, accurate first shot, managing the trigger at speed, clearing malfunctions, performing tactical and emergency reloads, and shooting while moving forward, laterally, and while retreating. Training also covers cognitive processing during high-stress encounters, one-handed operation, engagements at varied distances, everyday carry integration, and choosing, placing, and optimizing gear. This offering is not for beginners. A valid pistol permit or other proof of lawful firearm possession, proof of completing a basic CCW or fundamentals course, and full familiarity with one’s handgun are required. Please bring a semi-automatic handgun in 9 mm, .40 S&W, or .45 ACP, a strong-side belt holster with a secure mounting system including IWB or AIWB options, at least three magazines with a carrier, eye and ear protection, a brimmed hat, 800 to 1000 rounds of quality factory ammunition, weather-appropriate clothing with sturdy footwear, water, lunch, and snacks, along with sunscreen and insect repellent. For safety, holsters that use the trigger finger to release the pistol, such as Blackhawk SERPA models, are not permitted, and Sig P320 pistols and related variants are also not allowed. A club use fee of 40 dollars is due on the first day and may be paid to the club contact or the lead instructor.

Canton Parks and Rec's Annual Youth Catfish Derby

Young anglers ages 4 to 15 can cast for catfish at Westbrook Park Pond with Canton Parks and Rec. This free, public event awards prizes to winners and runners up in three divisions, 4 to 8, 9 to 12, and 13 to 15. Parents are not allowed to fish, although they may help younger participants with baiting hooks and removing fish. Catfish must be alive at the time of measurement to qualify for prizes. Online pre-registration is available, and same day walk-up registration will be offered, with early sign up strongly recommended. Canton Farmers' Market kicks off its outdoor season with a day filled with local flavor and family-friendly fun. Browse more than 35 vendors offering farm-fresh goods, handmade items, and baked treats. Live music sets the mood while food and drink options from Rambling Rose Kitchenette, Woolf Farms, and Fromage du Monde - Cheese & Wine Shop add to the celebration. Kids can enjoy games and activities, free balloon art, and hands-on crafts to make and take home led by Cantonology, Boomdyada, and Miss Larana's Alchemical Apothecary. Try your luck with the Find the Pig game for a chance at prizes provided by The Commercial & Savings Bank, and connect with local nonprofits. The shops along 4th Street also showcase artisan cheeses and cured meats, wine, apothecary goods, clothing, home decor, terrariums, jewelry, and more. The market runs rain or shine unless an inclement weather warning is in effect. SNAP, WIC, Produce Perks, TANF, and Senior Nutrition benefits are accepted. LNHS History Program- “Remembering May 4: Exploring Kent State’s Historic May 4 Collection

Liz Campion, MLIS, from Kent State University Libraries presents an exploration of Kent State’s May 4 Collection, created in 1970 to preserve the history and legacy of the Kent State Shootings and their aftermath. The archive encompasses more than 750 cubic feet of primary sources, including documents, photographs, publications, and other records. The program features notable highlights from the collection, an introduction to the digital collections, and an overview of the Kent State Shootings Oral History Project, which preserves firsthand accounts from those connected to the events of May 4, 1970. Attendees can examine related facsimiles and historical ephemera for a closer look at materials that help document and interpret this pivotal moment in history. Admission is free and no reservations are required, and the program takes place at the Ahh Gallery.

Littles Lunch & Learn: Spring Hill Farm & Dairy–An Interactive Experience

Learn about Spring Hill Farm and Spring Hill Dairy with Michael Weinstock in an interactive program. Participants will take turns making butter, and bread will be provided. Melscheimer Cemetery

Part of the Stark County Local History Group’s OHIO/250 Pastport program, this event offers a chance to get a Pastport stamp while exploring the stories of Melscheimer Cemetery. Longtime sexton Molly Wadsworth will share perspectives shaped by years of caring for the grounds. Although the cemetery sits in Pike Township, many Canton Township families are buried in this peaceful rural place. Attendees can learn about the site’s past and the people connected to it. A day on the greens at The Legends of Massillon Golf Course and Banquet Center brings together businesses, families, friends, and community supporters to champion hardworking K-9 teams. Hosted in support of the Police K-9 Association, a registered 501(c)(3) that trains and assists 50 active and retired teams across more than 20 departments, this outing focuses on meaningful impact. Every dollar raised goes toward continued education and training, life-saving equipment, veterinary and dental care, and end-of-life valor. Registration is completed online, with payment by check or credit card. Golfer spots and sponsorships are first come, first served, and payment is due within five business days to finalize participation. Canton Grass Bash Volleyball Tournament

This grass volleyball tournament offers a full slate of matchups, including men’s and women’s doubles, coed doubles, coed quads, and juniors triples for boys and girls in 18U, 16U, and 14U. The doubles Open division awards $1,000 to champions, $500 to second place, and $250 to third, while AA offers $500, $250, and $125. BB doubles provides tournament prizes for the top two teams. Coed doubles mirrors the Open and AA cash awards and features BB prizes for first and second. Coed quads includes AA and BB divisions, both awarding tournament prizes to the top two teams. Juniors triples recognizes 18U, 16U, and 14U brackets with tournament prizes for first and second. All purses may be adjusted based on the number of teams. Cruisn' Thru History Car Show

An annual car show fills the grounds of the McKinley National Memorial with classic and contemporary rides. Spectator admission is free. Vehicle registration for cars, trucks, jeeps, and motorcycles is in person only and costs $15. Trophies will be awarded by era. The first 125 registered cars receive dash plaques and goodie bags. Food will be available for purchase, and a live DJ will play favorites from the 1950s through the 1980s.

Wishes Can Happen Benefit

A benefit supporting Wishes Can Happen brings together riders and supporters for a cause-focused ride followed by festivities. The plan includes registration, a group departure for the ride, and a return for music, raffles with a 50/50, and food. Camp Caraway

Camp Caraway is a weeklong Christian youth camp that blends faith formation with plenty of fun. Students spend the week building friendships, taking part in energetic games and activities, and leaning into meaningful worship and guided conversations that encourage a personal walk with Jesus. The environment is safe and supportive, with age-appropriate Bible teaching that helps campers feel welcomed and understood. Caring, background-checked adults lead each group and activity.
