Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and Hard of Hearing community members can meet with a Community Outreach and Education Specialist for individualized support, including translating mail, navigating Social Security matters, addressing medical-related needs, and connecting with resources to resolve concerns. Stark County Fair in Canton, Ohio hosts a high-energy combination of off road competition and demolition derby. The off road portion features a timed course for rough trucks and SXS, along with an open figure eight that tests speed and control. In the demolition derby arena, drivers compete across several classes, including Powerwheels, Street Stock Full-Size, Youth Compact, Street Stock Compact, Windshield, and Full-Size Truck. Payouts are based on a five-entry minimum per class, and amounts may be updated at the event if turnout is below that threshold.

King's Highway, a Tom Petty tribute, performs at an outdoor concert on the 21-acre grounds of the Massillon Knights Foundation, following an opening set by Hardwired Band. Food vendors will be on site, and beer and wine will be available for purchase. Admission is $10, or choose a $75 season pass that covers all shows. Children under 18 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult with a ticket or pass. Attendees should bring a lawn chair for seating. Each person will take home a unique artwork that also serves as a nature themed accent for the home. Creek LEAP
The annual LEAP along Nimishillen Creek brings volunteers together for a hands-on cleanup in Water Works, Monument, and Stadium Parks. The McKinley Presidential Library and Museum and the Nimishillen Creek Watershed Partners host the effort. The Partners are a volunteer coalition of creek stakeholders focused on restoring water quality to fishable and swimmable levels and safeguarding the creek corridor, and they meet as a group at least twice each year. Registration takes place at the McKinley Museum before the cleanup begins. Participants should bring their own waders. Bags, rakes, gloves, and first aid support are provided, and lunch will be available after the cleanup. Grass volleyball takes center stage at Wampler Park with a community tournament hosted by Sadie of the Twenty9 Lives cat rescue. Teams can choose from 4s Upper at the A or BB level, 4s Lower at the B or C level, or 6s Rec. Rosters must include at least one woman for 4s and at least two for 6s. Divisions will not be mixed during pool play, so participants should register for the level that matches their team. The entry fee is $40 per player, and teams submit a single payment for the full roster. Registration and payment confirm a spot. Prizes will be awarded in each division, raffle baskets will be available, and there may be adoptable kittens to meet. Canton Pickle Fest Fall Festival at Stark County Fairgrounds celebrates all things pickle with a full footprint devoted to the brined, the sweet, and the sour. More than ten pickle makers from Ohio, Michigan, and New York come together to share flavors that stretch from classic bread and butter and dill to playful creations like cotton candy, whisky, Bloody Mary, and candied cowboy. Food trucks serve menus built around pickle-inspired dishes, and bakers and confectioners offer treats such as macarons, sourdough breads, freeze-dried candies, and cheesecake. Creative vendors add to the fun with pickle-themed art, crochet, paintings, and hand-blown glass. Live entertainment, raffles, a kids art area, a foam pit, henna, face painting, games, and other attractions are part of the experience. Drinks and bites include pickle-infused vodka cocktails, beer, mocktails, pickle lemonade, pickle pizza, pickle pork rinds, and even pickle cheesecake. VIP early entry tickets are limited, and the event is expected to sell out. For those who are not pickle fans, there will be plenty of food, shopping, and other options that do not feature pickles.
