The 5K is open to individuals and families of all ages and fitness levels, offering a welcoming way to make a difference. The event will take place rain or shine. Packet pickup is offered ahead of time, and same day registration is available before the start.

Saturday Sampler is a yearlong quilting program centered on Strawberry Garden by Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree & Co. Each month, Quilt Shop staff present and teach that month’s block in repeat sessions, and all sessions cover the same material. Participants begin by purchasing a $6 fabric kit that includes materials for one block. After the lesson, sew the block at home and bring the finished block to the next month’s class to receive the following kit at no charge. To receive the free kit, participants must bring their own completed block. Registration is required in person at the Quilt Shop.

Fiber enthusiasts come together for an informal day of creativity at the Carolyn Sauder Education Center. Bring a current work in progress or revive a long-set-aside project, and enjoy time with others who love rug hooking, punch needle, knitting, crochet, embroidery, applique, mending, and other hand stitching. In honor of National Fossil Day, this hike at Blue Creek Metropark invites participants ages 8 and up to explore local geology up close. Walk the Sledding Hill area and the edge of the quarry pond to look for fossils and spot glacial grooves, while learning about the rock layers beneath the Toledo area and the ancient history they reveal. Reservations are required and the fee is $5. The program runs rain, snow, or shine, so please dress for the weather. Minors must stay with a supervising adult for the entire program.
