Hoshin Tao Chi Kung

This class centers on Hoshin Tao Chi Kung, an age-old healing practice that blends meditation, steady breathwork, and mindful movement to cultivate balance and vitality. Regular practice supports a calm mind and spirit, can enhance creativity, learning, and athletic performance, and encourages overall wellness and longevity. Advanced training may lead to experiences sometimes described as kundalini rising. The cost is pay what you can. Instruction is provided by Grayson Trice, whose journey began in Japanese martial traditions and expanded into internal martial arts and healing arts under the guidance of Glenn J. Morris, Ph.D. and Sci.D. His background includes training in Judo and Sambo with a national Sambo championship, study of Shing Yi, Ling Kong Jing, and Reiki, and black belts in Sambo at master sport, Kyushin Ryu at shodan, and Hoshin Roshi Ryu Jutaijutsu at nidan. Recognized by Dr. Morris as a Hoshin Tao Chi Kung instructor and entrusted to lead a Hoshin dojo, he later served as chaplain of the Hoshin Roshi Ryu and established the Hoshin Hermetic Society at his teacher’s request. An initiate of the Western Hermetic tradition and a member of two Western magical orders, he now leads the Dojo of the Sun & Moon with a focus on the healing arts, offering in-person and online instruction in Hoshin Tao Chi Kung, energy healing, meditation, Western esoterics, and related disciplines. His aim is to preserve the healing lineage he received and make transformative practices accessible regardless of personal circumstances.

Disfluency Film Screening

A special screening of the film Disfluency is taking place at Rodeo Cinema with free admission made possible by the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office at Tinker AFB. Seating is limited, and spots will be filled in the order of arrival. The film follows Jane, a college senior whose plans are disrupted when she fails her final class just before graduation. Back at home, she begins to piece together the aftermath of a sexual assault. Drawing on her studies in language and communication, including elements of ASL and linguistics, the story explores consent, memory, and the path toward healing. In the vein of coming-of-age stories like The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Disfluency blends warmth and vulnerability while addressing trauma in an accessible, human way. It portrays PTSD without graphic imagery, focusing on Jane’s emotional experience and the self-doubt many survivors face when sharing their stories. Donations of new, comfortable clothing for clients will be collected, including items such as leggings, sports bras, T-shirts, and similar essentials in all sizes. Created with meaningful input from survivors and supported by educational resources, the film aims to spark conversation, deepen understanding, and support those impacted by sexual assault.

Auditions: Drunk Classics: Antony and Cleopatra

3rd Act Theatre Company returns with the 8th Annual Drunk Classics Summer Tour, presenting a spirited take on Antony and Cleopatra adapted and directed by Kenneth Chambers from Shakespeare. In-person auditions are being held for this fundraising touring production, which will travel to various venues around the OKC metro. Prospective performers will read from sides provided at the audition. Registration is available through the event page’s Find Tickets button, and in-person callbacks may be scheduled as needed. The company is committed to inclusive casting and welcomes performers of all backgrounds and identities. Drunk Classics blends a well-known story with lively improv and adult beverages. At each performance the audience votes for one cast member to start the show after a few drinks. Audience donations then trigger new improv “rules” drawn at random, which might call for a specific voice or persona, such as an angry Scotsman, a heavy smoker, or a Jennifer Coolidge impression, or a physical challenge like scratching at an unreachable itch, coping with a leg that has fallen asleep, or moving as if without bones. No one is selected as the designated drunk for back-to-back shows, transportation for that performer is provided, and a nightly collection is shared among the cast as stipends. The story follows Antony, a co-ruler of Rome, and Cleopatra, Egypt’s queen, whose passionate bond pulls Antony away from his duties. Summoned home by Augustus and Lepidus, he leaves Cleopatra in despair. A betrayal by Augustus sends Antony back to Egypt, setting the stage for conflict with Rome. The tale mixes tempestuous romance, political maneuvering, and serpentine menace in a comedic, booze-tinged retelling. All roles are open, with characters including Mark Antony, Cleopatra, Agrippa, Octavius also known as Caesar and the Soothsayer, Enobarbus and a farmer, Charmain and Pompey, as well as Lepidus, Eros, and Octavia. The production features mature language and adult themes involving love, sex, drunkenness, death, war, suicide, infidelity, bawdy humor, pranks, hijinks, and mischief. Performers must be of legal drinking age and able to consume alcohol, though artists who are sober are encouraged to audition and accommodations can be made. Rehearsals will lead into multiple performances during the summer tour.

The schedule spans three days, beginning with a Team Trios competition featuring Legacy, Vintage, and Modern. Entry for Team Trios is $225 per team. The Legacy Open follows with a $100 per person entry fee, and first place receives a Mox Sapphire along with an original artist sketch by Nicola Leonard-Beeson. Entry is $100 per person, and first place receives an Unlimited Mox Emerald plus an original painting by Nicola Leonard-Beeson. Side events will be announced, with returning offerings that include an Old School Charity Event, a Modern Challenge, cEDH, and Duel Commander. Her portfolio includes notable pieces like Karakas, Tolaria, Karplusan Forest, and The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale. Proxies are legal under specific guidelines. They are limited to cards on the Wizards of the Coast reserved list and must not be used to create confusion or gain an in-game advantage. Acceptable options include real Magic cards that have information carefully blanked or blacked out, official Oklahoma Land Run proxies from previous events, and International, Collector’s, and MTG 30 Edition cards. Artist-created tokens for popular cards may be accepted only if their size and thickness match official cards to avoid marked card issues. All proxied card details must be clearly recorded and easy to read, and it should always be obvious to players and judges what each proxy represents. Printed images that are glued onto cards or slipped into sleeves are not permitted. Questions about proxies should be directed to the head judge before the first round. For lodging, the Delta Hotels by Marriott Midwest City is attached directly to the convention center, with limited room availability. Additional nearby options within easy walking distance include Holiday Inn Express & Suites Midwest City, La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Midwest City, Hampton Inn OKC I-40 East, and Home2 Suites by Hilton OKC Midwest City.
