Concerts in the Park
The Grants Pass and Josephine County Chamber of Commerce celebrates 40 years of Concerts in the Park with a free community performance in Riverside Park. This show is part of a five week series and offers a relaxed, family friendly atmosphere with local food trucks, vendor booths, activities and giveaways for kids, and refreshing pours from Wild River’s tap trailer. The stage is set near the Pavilion, a shaded spot with convenient access to parking. Guests can use the McKinny lot across from the 6th Street park entrance and follow the walking path under the bridge. Taking the spotlight is the John Dough Boys, a five piece string band from Southern Oregon whose hard charging mix of bluegrass, punk, rock, and folk powers songs about women, beer, and bad decisions. With upright slap bass, drums, fiddle, guitar, and banjo, their live sound aims to get feet moving and leave the crowd wanting more. The series depends on the support of partners, volunteers, and sponsors at many levels to keep this long running tradition thriving.

Special guests include Richard Rawlings and Dennis Collins from the Discovery Channel series Gas Monkey Garage, along with Alan Taylor, host of The Drive radio show. The showcase spans the full spectrum of car culture, from pre-war classics and 1950s customs to muscle cars, hot rods, rat rods, lowriders, lead sleds, European classics and sports cars, JDM builds and modern tuners, lifted trucks and off-road rigs, motorcycles and cafe racers, and resto-mods. The schedule includes a welcome night with a kickoff cruise and downtown roll-in, a full show day featuring celebrity meet and greets, live entertainment and vendors, a main event day with awards, featured celebrity programming and an evening cruise, and a closing day with final awards plus a sendoff cruise along the Rogue.
