The Doylestown Bookshop and Stage United present Music for Bookshops, a series of in-store instrumental performances that touch on jazz, ambient, classical, and lo-fi. Browse the shelves with live music in the air, and enjoy cocktails or mocktails from the Hops/Scotch mobile bar. This installment features Sailcloth, an instrumental project that explores intimate melodies on expansive acoustic instruments. Upright bassist Alex Luquet and harpist Chelsea Smarr shape atmospheric textures from their compositions, then improvise to respond to the character of spaces such as barns, forests, and bookshops where they perform. Their sound has been described as bass-led and immersive, blending elements of drone, folktronic collage, jazz, Americana, and a post-classical shimmer. Each ticket includes seating and 10% off all purchases made in the bookshop during the event. Cocktails and mocktails will be available from Hops/Scotch.
