Free Sounds in the Leaves Crystal Bowl Sound Bath

Mount Laurel Library, 100 Walt Whitman Ave, Mt Laurel · verified Oct 11
    Free

Experience a free, multi-sensory crystal bowl sound bath at Mount Laurel Library that offers a soothing hour of harmonic tones paired with gentle nature-inspired elements to support balance and calm. The session centers on the vibrational qualities of crystal singing bowls, which are described as helping to release tension and disharmony in body, mind, and spirit while encouraging relaxation, rejuvenation, and healing. Each bowl is associated with an energy center, aiming to cleanse and restore the system at a deep level. As participants rest comfortably, the layered sounds can encourage a deeply relaxed state where restorative effects may unfold. Research cited in the event description notes that the brain responds quickly to natural sights and sounds, so this nature-infused approach is designed to enhance the meditative experience and promote mental clarity. The overview of sound healing further explains that specific vibrations can help clear blockages and support the flow of energy physically, emotionally, and spiritually, often leaving attendees feeling refreshed. Please bring a yoga mat or blanket and a pillow for comfort. Chairs are available for anyone who prefers to sit. You are welcome to bring crystals and extra water to charge, and comfortable clothing is recommended. This event is free with registration, no library card is required, and all are welcome. If you are unfamiliar with the venue, consider giving yourself a little extra time to get settled. The description also highlights Rebecca Zarnawski, a Reiki Master, intuitive coach, sound healer, and IPHM accredited practitioner whose work blends Reiki, sound healing, and intuitive coaching to support emotional release, balance, and self-empowerment.

    Volunteer Day: December

120 W Whites Bogs Rd, Browns Mills · verified Oct 11
    Free

Start by checking in at the General Store and signing in, then choose from a mix of indoor and outdoor projects suited to many interests and abilities. This month focuses on getting ready for Winter programs. Volunteers of any age can participate, and children attend with a parent or guardian. A lunch is provided, with pizza and drinks. Please dress for the weather, and know that gloves and tools are supplied for the tasks at hand. There is always plenty to do around the village. Options can include tending the garden, clearing and maintaining trails, organizing supplies, preparing for events, stocking and cleaning in the General Store, or pitching in on digital projects. Typical stewardship work ranges from picking up litter along trails and waterways, removing fallen sticks, and trimming thorny vines to keep paths clear, to breaking down cardboard for recycling and weeding garden beds. Some days feature projects with the Landscape Committee such as small bridge work or setting path edges. Inside the museums and historic house displays, dusting and general tidying are ongoing needs. At times there are benches to stain and seal, picnic tables to assemble, kits to put together, or seasonal refreshes like setting out new tablecloths and home accents. Tasks at Suningive may include cleaning such as dusting, vacuuming, and sweeping, with feather dusters available in the closet at the top of the stairs. In the Suningive gardens and on nearby trails, common needs include picking up sticks, pruning back weeds along paths, and general trash pickup. The porches at Cottage 12 and the General Store also benefit from sweeping, raking around the buildings, and wiping down rocking chairs, the mailbox, and railings. This volunteer gathering follows a monthly rhythm, taking place on the month’s opening Saturday. Service learning and Scout projects are welcome, and there are also opportunities for interns in education and events.
