Meet at the Parker St Trail Head for a two-group bike ride. The A group emphasizes faster training with paceline practice, targeting an overall average of about 16 to 18 mph. The B group keeps the pace more casual, introduces group-riding skills and traffic navigation, and regroups often, averaging roughly 12 to 15 mph. Both groups roll out from the trailhead and travel north to Jermyn for approximately 22.5 miles. If this is your first ride with NEPA Velo, please complete a waiver and make a $5 club dues payment for the season to help cover insurance. Helmets are required.

At The V-Spot in Scranton, this long-running NEPA Scene open mic offers a free showcase for musicians, comedians, actors, performance artists, magicians, and more. It consistently draws diverse lineups and energetic crowds, giving performers the chance to reach new audiences, connect with fellow creatives, and gain added visibility through a live stream and professional photos. Touring acts sometimes drop in to play a set between gigs. Sign-ups are required to perform, a limited number may be accepted later, and arriving early helps secure a spot. Each act gets a short set that varies with turnout, and original material is encouraged. All participants are featured in the live stream on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram, though copyrighted tracks may prevent some sets from appearing. Downloadable photos for every act are later shared in the NEPA Scene Open Mic Facebook group for artists to use in their own promotion. Performers must be 18 or older. Those who are 18 to 20 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and both must present valid ID to enter. The venue provides a bright stage, a soundboard, two microphones, two standard instrument cables, and a Mapex five-piece house drum kit. Full bands are welcome. Backing tracks can be played from a phone or laptop using the available audio connections, and any additional gear should be brought by the performer.

The story follows Hikaru, a gifted singer from her family’s Tokyo bathhouse who craves the spotlight, as she takes a chance on an audition for a pop idol survival camp with her friend Ran. The program includes Pop Idol and manga themed activities with Ms. Meghan, and Lit-Loot boxes will be available for pickup. This event is designed for kids in grades 4 through 6.

The locomotives will be positioned side by side and illuminated with professional LED lighting to create striking images. Staged scenes with costumed reenactors and period props will bring the setting to life, and artificial smoke effects will give No. 4012 the appearance of a working engine. Opportunities to photograph both Big Boys together are extremely rare. Tickets are initially available to Iron Horse Society members and will later be offered to the general public.

A race t-shirt is included, and complimentary beer will be served at Midland to celebrate the effort on a tough course. Early-bird registration is $35, and day-of entry is $45. Begin your aerial yoga journey with a 60 minute introductory class led by Jessica. Designed for complete beginners, the session covers fundamental wraps, catches, and gentle inversions at a relaxed pace that supports modifications and mindful practice. Class size is limited and preregistration is required. Please avoid heavy meals for 90 minutes beforehand. Open to participants ages 15 and up. Cost is $15. Jessica Cadden Wentlent is a multidisciplinary movement artist with more than two decades of teaching experience. She is a certified personal trainer and an experienced, registered yoga teacher with additional training in prenatal, aerial, and stand up paddle board yoga. A certified Pilates mat instructor, she often blends Pilates and yoga methods. Her reformer studies were guided by Jenn Seracuse at FLEX Studios in New York City, where she also taught reformer, barre, and TRX. She previously owned and operated Savitri Yoga NYC in East Harlem, holds a BFA in Dance Performance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and performed for eight years as a Radio City Rockette. Her background in professional dance fostered a commitment to cross training and mindful movement, which she enjoys sharing through her teaching. Beyond the studio, she is active in arts education, dance, film, acting, and writing, and values time with her family.

A Tribute to John Denver starring Ted Vigil
At The Theater at North, Ted Vigil leads a heartfelt salute to John Denver. Billed as the country's top John Denver tribute artist, he mirrors the legend's look and voice, delivering a performance that Steve Weisberg, John Denver's lead guitarist, has called uncanny. The set features favorites such as "Take Me Home, Country Roads," "Leaving on a Jet Plane," "Annie's Song," "Rocky Mountain High," "Calypso," "Thank God I'm a Country Boy," "Sunshine on My Shoulders," and more. Multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Theresa Britt joins the show, bringing experience as a violinist, fiddler, guitarist, and singer. Based in the Texas Hill Country, she has more than two decades in country and western swing bands, performs with regional orchestras in Texas and with string quartets, and works as an arranger, composer, and songwriter. Recently she has focused on her Dirty Rotten Swing Band project, which features a rotating lineup and blends Western Swing, jazz, and blues.
