Dopethrone and more

Black Heart Booking and Metro Concerts Live present a crushing lineup featuring Dopethrone and Year Of The Cobra, with local support from Zenith and Expereyemental. This is an all ages show with tickets priced at $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the show. Dopethrone, hailing from Montreal’s Hochelaga neighborhood, channels a suffocating, grime-laden take on sludge that folds in blackened edges and swampy, blues-streaked weight, a blend they call slutch, all rooted in a fierce DIY spirit. Active since 2008, the band’s 2011 album Dark Foil drew the attention of Voivod and led to a Roadburn appearance in 2012, followed by relentless touring and festival sets from Maryland Doom Fest to Hellfest. After six years away from the studio, they returned in 2024 with their sixth release on Totem Cat Records, Broke Sabbath, delivering seven tracks of volatile intensity. Year Of The Cobra brings stoner, doom, and metal from Seattle, adding a thunderous counterpart to the headlining set.

Donation Based Yoga - Rooted in Cause

A donation based yoga class created through a new collaboration is offered at Wild Peach & Co. on Tuesdays. The practice centers on ahimsa, the yogic commitment to nonviolence understood as deliberate compassion, mindful care, and conscious choices that reduce harm in our bodies, relationships, and communities. Guidance emphasizes nervous system regulation so responses can replace reactions, with a focus on showing up for justice with clarity, integrity, and grounded presence. Sessions are led by Hart or Nevada, and Skyla shares practical coping tools to carry into daily life, including simple and accessible approaches for grounding, regulation, and everyday care beyond the mat. This offering provides space to move and breathe while affirming that care is action. Everyone is welcome, with all bodies and experience levels supported, rooted in compassion and guided by intention.

A free monthly stand up comedy contest at Lucky's Bar in The Club 224 welcomes newcomers and seasoned comics alike. The night is hosted by Adam Goodge and includes a featured set from last month's winner, Travis Ruston. Signups happen on site and the performance order is randomized before the show begins. Winners must bring three judges for the following month and are not eligible to compete again for the remainder of the year. Devon Worley Band returns to the Den for a 21-and-over night with free admission. Hailing from Minneapolis, the group has lit up festival and motorcycle rally stages across the Midwest and moves easily between country, rock, country-rock, and a throwback feel while staying outside strict genre lines. The Hazy Phase Band, also from Minneapolis, opens the night with a blues-driven set. Formed in 2020, this trio blends raw slide guitar with hard-hitting rhythms and shades of vintage soul. The lineup features Dave McDevitt on vocals and guitar, Chris Milinovich on cigar box guitars, and David Quamme on drums, drawing inspiration from Muddy Waters and Freddie King to ZZ Top, Left Lane Cruiser, The Black Keys, and Jack White.

Throw Down Thursday Cornhole League!

Two person teams face off in a weekly blind draw bracket at Golf Addiction, with play held outdoors on West Georgia boards. Each week pays out the entire cash pot. First place receives half, and the other half goes to a randomly selected team through a blind bucket draw, so every team has a chance to take home some money. Entry is $5 per player each week, or $10 per team. There is also an optional $25 per team season pot that pays out once to the overall winner after ten weeks. That $25 must be paid within the first three weeks of the league, and teams collect points each week toward the fully paid out overall pot. One player on each team needs the Scoreholio app to register and keep score, and all standings and scoring are managed there. Sign up must be completed before play begins to be placed on that night's bracket. All payments are handled inside Golf Addiction prior to play. Outside food and drinks are not permitted and coolers are not allowed, with beer and bucket specials available on site. The format suits newcomers, intermediate players and seasoned competitors alike. Questions can be directed to 605-274-8903.

ACCESSORIES CAMP

Designed for ages 7 and up, this creative camp blends style with hands-on STEAM learning through wearable and functional projects made entirely by hand. Over the week, participants craft clay beads and turn them into bracelets, keychains, and earrings, and they personalize a camp T-shirt. They decorate sunglasses and a compact mirror while continuing their beaded jewelry, then customize a glam tote bag. Projects also include assembling a 6 by 16 inch jewelry hanger to display their creations and completing a 12 by 16 glam tray for accessories. Expect screen-free activities that build creative skills and boost confidence through crafting. Campers are encouraged to bring a snack and a drink for breaks. A $35 early registration discount is automatically applied, bringing the price to $215 plus tax, regularly $250, with no promo code required.
