Paranormal Cirque Inferno

Paranormal Cirque Inferno presents a fiery mix of horror, dark humor, and acrobatics at The Empire Mall in Sioux Falls. Inside a black and white circus tent, eerie characters take the stage while precision stunts and flame-fueled visuals drive the action from start to finish. The show blends frights and sly laughs with athletic performances for a high-intensity night under the canvas. This event features mature content and is not suitable for children under 13. Guests ages 13 to 17 must be accompanied by an adult.

2026 Softball Kickoff Party

Fans and players gather at Club David to kick off the sixth season of SEPSA Softball. This party marks the start of the season and brings the community together before games begin. Dopethrone and more

Black Heart Booking and Metro Concerts Live present a crushing lineup featuring Dopethrone and Year Of The Cobra, with local support from Zenith and Expereyemental. This is an all ages show with tickets priced at $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the show. Dopethrone, hailing from Montreal’s Hochelaga neighborhood, channels a suffocating, grime-laden take on sludge that folds in blackened edges and swampy, blues-streaked weight, a blend they call slutch, all rooted in a fierce DIY spirit. Active since 2008, the band’s 2011 album Dark Foil drew the attention of Voivod and led to a Roadburn appearance in 2012, followed by relentless touring and festival sets from Maryland Doom Fest to Hellfest. After six years away from the studio, they returned in 2024 with their sixth release on Totem Cat Records, Broke Sabbath, delivering seven tracks of volatile intensity. Year Of The Cobra brings stoner, doom, and metal from Seattle, adding a thunderous counterpart to the headlining set.

SFBC April field trip

The Sioux Falls Bird Club offers a monthly birding outing focused on seasonal migration. Participants will gather at The Outdoor Campus to organize carpools, then travel to wetlands west of Sioux Falls to look for migrating shorebirds, waterfowl, gulls, sparrows, and other species. The plan centers on driving between locations with brief opportunities to step out and observe, keeping walking to a minimum. A previous trip recorded more than 70 species, highlighting the potential for a day full of diverse sightings.

2026 Sioux Falls Open Martial Arts Tournament

Hosted for more than 15 years by DMA, this regional tournament at the Sioux Falls Convention Center brings together students from many styles, including Taekwondo, Jujitsu, Judo, Karate, Kung Fu, Capoeira, BJJ, Kendo, American Kickboxing, and others. It has grown into one of the largest competitions in the area. Competitors can enter grappling, sparring, traditional forms, creative forms, weapons forms, sport jujitsu, and padded sword. Pre-registration is required, and a digital system will be used for registration and tracking to keep the event running smoothly. The day features an opening ceremony, a meeting for judges and instructors, grappling, karate events, self defense application in all rings, and divisions for kids. All events for a single age group will run in the same ring before the next group begins, which is intended to speed up the schedule and let younger athletes wrap up earlier. Pricing for competitors is tiered, with Early Bird at $40 per competitor plus $5 per event, Regular at $45 plus $10 per event, and Late at $55 plus $15 per event. Car Show & Test & Tune

Kick off the I-90 Speedway racing season with a Show & Shine car showcase at The 18th Amendment in Sioux Falls, featuring race cars on display and opportunities to meet drivers and get a close look at the machines. The car show is free to attend. Afterward, the action moves to the track for a Test-N-Tune session. Pit passes are $35, and grandstand admission is free. The day offers family friendly fun and plenty of photo opportunities as the new season gets underway.

Vikings Make-A-Wish 5K

The second annual Vikings Make-A-Wish 5K is organized by students in Augustana’s Master of Sports Administration and Leadership program as part of their capstone project. Held at Kirkeby-Over Stadium, the event benefits Make-A-Wish South Dakota & Montana.

Henry's Run

Make-A-Wish 5K Fundraiser

Take part in a 5k run and walk at Augustana University that raises funds for Make-A-Wish. Graduate students in the Masters of Sports Administration and Leadership program are planning and managing the event as part of their capstone, gaining real-world experience in marketing, fundraising, and operations. All donations and proceeds from registrations will be donated directly to Make-A-Wish to help grant wishes for children. Registering early includes an event shirt that will be handed out on the day of the run, while later registrations may not receive a shirt due to limited supply. A community 5K run and walk supports the mission of WHS Speech & Debate while welcoming participants both in person and virtually. Big Sioux River Cleanup

Celebrate Earth Day with the Downtown Residents' Association at the Big Sioux River Cleanup, hosted by the City of Sioux Falls, with check-in at Falls Park near the Queen Bee Mill Ruins on the east side of the falls. As the community's largest annual litter removal effort, this cleanup brings neighbors and river stewards together to care for the stretch that flows through the downtown neighborhood. Upon arrival, participants will check in at the City of Sioux Falls tent to complete a required release form, then head out with provided disposable bags and gloves. Wearing clothing that can get dirty or wet is recommended since items pulled from the river can be unpredictable. Additional monthly neighborhood river cleanups are planned in partnership with Friends of the Big Sioux River, with more details to come.

A no-cover punk show at the Den features Omaha’s River City Rejects after 18 months of effort to bring them in. Sharing the bill are local acts The Grave Itself and Shurr Jr, along with The Sovereign from Fort Thompson, SD. A younger band is part of the mix as well. Admission is 21 and over, with an exception for performers.

KOTH QUALIFIER TOURNAMENT

This King of the Hill qualifier features 8-ball played under BCA rules, with cue ball fouls only and ball in hand on every foul. The entry fee is $40 and covers table time. Matches run as a race to 7 on the front and 4 on the back. Players lag for the first break, then alternate breaks after that. For every eight entrants, one will qualify for the main event. Competition is organized into three non-handicapped divisions by Fargorate: Division 1 for 575 to 700, Division 2 for 475 to 574, and Division 3 for 474 and under. The tournament director is Joe Cooper.

3rd Annual Adult Pint-Wood Derby

Now in its third year, this adult derby takes place at Severance Brewing. Participants check in by weighing their cars and selecting a race class, with options including classic, outlaw, and a new Business Class. The Business Class allows companies to sponsor a car to race against other businesses for a $100 sponsorship. The day starts with registration, continues with racing, and ends with closing ceremonies. Advance registration is available to reserve a spot.

Athletes of all ages can test their skills at a UNAA sanctioned regional hosted by 605 Ninja, part of Season 11 of the Ultimate Ninja Athlete Association, a leading league for ninja style obstacle course racing. Competitors ages 6 and up are welcome. All divisions are offered, including 7 and under boys and girls, 9 and under boys and girls, 11 and under boys and girls, 13 and under boys and girls, 15 and under boys and girls, Amateur men and women, Intermediate men and women, Pro men and women, Over 40 men and women, and Over 50 men and women. The course is created by 605 Ninja designers in alignment with UNAA rules to deliver a true ninja challenge, and the top five finishers or the top 30 percent in each division, whichever is greater, will earn a spot at UNAA Finals. Entry is $75 per competitor, and late registration is $85. Spectator admission is $5 at the door. Two waivers are required, one for UNAA and one for 605 Ninja. A free, single-day camp invites adoptees ages 8 to 12 to connect, learn, and have fun in a supportive setting with limited space available. The day features mentors who are adoptees themselves, plus activities like games, crafts, and story time, along with chances to build friendships, move their bodies, and engage in exercises that support emotional growth. Parents are welcomed at a drop-off coffee hour to meet one another and build support networks. Snacks, restroom breaks, and hydration are planned, and lunch is provided. During registration, families are asked to share dietary needs, the child’s name and age, shirt size, and any special considerations. The program is organized by LSS staff with a trauma-informed approach and a commitment to including all adoptees. Families are encouraged to consider the level of support their child receives in school. Yu-Gi-Oh! Genesys Format Tournament

This tournament uses the Yu-Gi-Oh Genesys format with a new points limit in effect. In this rule set, Link Monsters and Pendulum Monsters are not allowed, while all other cards are legal. Duels use the classic field layout, so there are no Extra Monster Zones or Pendulum Zones. The usual Forbidden and Limited list does not apply, which means those cards can be played in this event except for Link and Pendulum cards, and you may include up to three copies of any individual card. Deck building follows a points system that covers your Main, Extra, and Side Decks. Certain cards carry a point value while most cost zero, and the combined total across all decks must stay at or below the event’s point cap. The standard cap is 200, but organizers may choose any cap, including zero, for their tournament.

An energy filled double bill at the Sioux Falls Orpheum Theater Center celebrates the music of Queen and Michael Jackson. The Kings of Queen bring five part vocal harmonies and a frontman evoking Freddie Mercury, delivering arrangements that stay true to the originals. Rock With You, The Michael Jackson Experience, is an 11 piece tribute with two MJ performers, one focused on the iconic looks and dance moves and the other on the voice and stage presence. Four dancers recreate classic choreography from the Jackson 5 through the solo years, all supported by a full band committed to the authentic sound. Together these productions honor two legendary catalogs in one night.

This 5k run and walk takes place at Sioux Falls Riverdale Park. Participants can pick up packets in advance at the Law Enforcement Center or on site at the park. The event begins with the National Anthem, continues with the 5k, and concludes with an awards ceremony.

Harmony Spring Concert

The fourth and final concert of the 2025-26 school year brings together the Harmony Choir, Chamber Choir, and three orchestras for a program of premieres and beloved classics. The Harmony Choir presents an original Beatles medley featuring With a Little Help from My Friends, Penny Lane, Help!, and Let It Be, along with new arrangements of Josh Wilson’s The Things that I’m Afraid Of and Austin French’s Rest for Your Soul. The Chamber Choir debuts a medley of songs by Josiah Queen that includes The Prodigal, Cloud and Fire, and Yesterday Is Dead. The Sinfonia Orchestra performs the Allegro from Handel’s opera Xerxes, a high-energy take on the Celtic favorite Swallowtail Jig, and the original work Triumphant. The Philharmonia Orchestra offers Brahms’s Hungarian Dance No. 5, Percy Fletcher’s Fiddle Dance, and the first movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in C minor. The Chamber Orchestra rounds out the program with the Presto from Haydn’s String Quartet No. 4, Op. 20.

2026 Ride of Silence - Sioux Falls

At Levitt at the Falls, Falls Area Bicyclists and cyclists around the world mark the 24th anniversary of the Ride of Silence with a quiet, slow-paced ride that honors people injured or killed while riding on public roads and encourages everyone to share the road. A brief memorial and dedication precedes departure at the Levitt Shell, with remarks from someone personally affected by a bike and motor vehicle crash, a reading of the official Ride of Silence poem, a moment for prayer and reflection, a short safety talk, and a special send off that may include a bagpiper. The ride proceeds together in the style of a funeral procession at a maximum of 12 mph. Participants are asked to remain silent throughout to show respect for victims and their families, to wear helmets, and to follow all rules of the road. There is no registration fee.

Hosted at Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, this remembrance walk welcomes parents, relatives, and friends to honor children, grandchildren, and siblings gone too soon while connecting with others. After outgrowing the Alcester location, the event has moved to Sioux Falls this year. The gathering includes a remembrance ceremony, access to a walking path, and a free-will donation meal. An auction and raffle will raise funds to continue the mission. Memory signs created in previous years will be displayed again at no additional cost, and donated items for the raffle or auction are appreciated.

17th Annual SEPR Poker Run

Now in its 17th year, this poker run raises funds for dogs with a scenic ride, card draws at every stop, and an afternoon of camaraderie. Registration and the first stop take place at Crow Bar in Sioux Falls, followed by Bigs Bar in Sioux Falls, Lucky Ladz in Crooks, Steve's Bar & Grill in Trent, and a finish at Bottoms Up in Corson. Admission is $25 per person and includes one poker hand. Cash prizes go to the top hands, with $400 for first place, $200 for second, and $100 for third.
