Keyboardist, composer, producer, and globally touring artist Kevin Gastonguay leads a group of collaborators at the Jazz Cave in a performance centered on his own music. Based in Nashville, Gastonguay is widely recognized as the keyboardist with guitarist and bandleader Cory Wong. His two-decade career spans six continents and more than 30 countries, with appearances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Gorge Amphitheatre, and the Hollywood Bowl, as well as festival sets at Montreux Jazz Festival, Newport Jazz Festival, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, and Telluride Jazz Festival. Originally from Minneapolis, he came up through that city’s renowned scene, spent a long run with Dr. Mambo’s Combo, and often performed with Prince alumni Michael Bland and Sonny Thompson. Murder Mystery Excursion Train
Settle into a reserved seat aboard a restored streamlined stainless steel passenger train for a Nashville to Watertown excursion and back. Over the 90 mile journey, a short progressive murder mystery unfolds right in your car, with Act I presented on the eastbound leg and Act II on the return. Each scene lasts about five to seven minutes as the cast moves through the train. Live music accompanies the ride and continues in Watertown. During the layover, enjoy lunch at local restaurants and browse the shops around the square. Fares are $35 for children under 12, $70 for coach or dining car seats, $110 for premier coach, and $140 for dome seating, and a convenience fee applies to all tickets. A 15-time GRAMMY winner and a defining figure in modern country music, Skaggs earned praise from Chet Atkins for his impact on the genre. He was a prodigy who played mandolin on stage with Bill Monroe at age six and appeared on television with Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs at seven. He turned professional in 1971 alongside Keith Whitley in Ralph Stanley’s Clinch Mountain Boys, then worked with the Country Gentlemen and J.D. Crowe & the New South before leading Boone Creek with Jerry Douglas. Skaggs later joined Emmylou Harris’s Hot Band and launched a solo career in 1981 with an Epic Records debut that topped the country charts and produced two number one singles. His Epic years yielded a total of 12 number one hits and eight Country Music Association awards, including Entertainer of the Year in 1985. He stood with the 1980s new traditionalists such as Randy Travis, revitalizing country music by blending bluegrass and classic country with the contemporary Nashville sound. His 1997 release Bluegrass Rules! on Skaggs Family Records marked a celebrated return to bluegrass, followed by GRAMMY-winning albums recorded with Kentucky Thunder, a band honored eight times by the IBMA as Instrumental Group of the Year. His label has also supported roots artists including The Whites. Career recognitions include the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the Musicians Hall of Fame, the National Fiddler Hall of Fame, the IBMA Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the National Medal of Arts in 2020. After more than six decades with the mandolin, he continues to champion roots music with a blend of tradition and fresh ideas.

Raised by two musicians and shaped by a wide range of influences from the Great American Songbook and classical repertoire to artists like Harry Connick Jr. and Billy Joel, she pairs tradition with a modern touch. Set in Historic East Nashville’s Five Points, this two day celebration centers on the beloved tomato as a symbol of unity between fruits and vegetables. The festival is free to attend, welcoming to all ages, and brimming with art, live music, food, playful costumes, contests, shopping, and activities for kids. Performances fill the 37206 Main Stage presented by Busch Light with Tobacco Road, Jarren Blair, Girl Tones, The Foxies, Threegon, Massie99, Wild Bill & The Bruisers, Raygun, JT Loux, Waxed, and Moga Family Band. The 11th St. Stage presented by Publix Super Markets features The FBR, Eva Cassel, Lonesome Joy, Abbdavv, Gremlins, Chrysalis, and the Battle of the Vine winner. Costumes are encouraged, and in addition to the free festivities there are two ticketed gatherings, the Art Show Pre View Party and the Bloody Mary Garden Party.
Five PointsBlue & White Stadium Scrimmage
The Tennessee Titans host the Blue & White Stadium Scrimmage, presented by Pinnacle, a complimentary family friendly practice session open to the public at Nissan Stadium. It marks the team’s final full-stadium practice in the current venue and features a live team scrimmage that concludes with a fireworks display. Admission requires reserving a free ticket through SeatGeek. This reserved-seat excursion runs between Nashville and Watertown and back, using stainless steel passenger cars with heating and air conditioning that reflect the experience of American rail travel in the late 1940s and 1950s. Rumors say the Mackle and Wilson gangs plan to hold up the train on the way to Watertown and might even cause trouble in town. Riders can see how the story unfolds with action in and around Watertown, including the possibility of a shootout involving a U.S. Marshal and the Mackle-Wilson gangs.
