He also contributes as an educator, arranger, and composer, and received the Los Angeles Jazz Society’s Musician of the Year honor. There are no weight classes or gender categories and a welcoming atmosphere for every body. Lifters of any experience level can participate, whether pulling 95 pounds or 495 pounds. Spectators are welcome to cheer, with vendors, a raffle, and an afterparty following the main event. All proceeds support Trans Aid Nashville, Nashville Launch Pad, and Healing in the Margins. The fundraising goal is $25,000, building on last year’s total of $12,439.
