Sadie Ford Heritage Farm hosts a day that spotlights life from the 1920s through the 1940s with a wide range of demonstrators and vendors. The farm comes alive with period demonstrations, crafting, games, food, artisan vendors, live music, and a look at everyday living from the 1930s and 1940s. Activities spread across the grounds and include old fashioned games, face painting, homemade ice cream, butter churning, a crosscut saw, Dutch oven cooking samples, and mule wagon rides. Demonstrations feature the Tom Jones Broom Shop, blacksmithing, basket making, looming, lace and button making, wood carving, tinctures, wild edibles, crochet and cross stitching, plus WWII maneuvers with the 30th Infantry and a black powder demonstration. Conversation is grounded in empathy and lived experience. There is no expectation to have everything figured out, and speaking is optional until you feel ready. Arrive as you are, and know you have a place here. The purpose is to offer ongoing support for those parenting children from hard places, because no one should carry this journey alone.
