The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s brings the Abilene community together to raise awareness and funds for care, support services, and research. The walk takes place at Grover Belson Park in Abilene. Participation helps fuel local efforts for people affected by Alzheimer’s and advances research.

The HERPS Exotic Reptile and Pet Expo brings a two-day marketplace and learning experience to the Taylor County Expo Center Display Building. A wide range of reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, small mammals, feeders, and related supplies will be available to the public at significant discounts. Visitors can meet breeders from across the United States, get a close look at an array of animals, and spend time in an education area with interactive learning. Concessions are available throughout the event. Tickets are $10 for a single-day adult pass or $15 for a two-day adult pass. Children ages 5 to 12 are $5 for one day or $8 for two days, and children 4 and under are admitted free.

Discover aviation at a free event on the Abilene Heritage Square campus, featuring guest speakers that include Ask a Pilot sessions, readings led by the Abilene Public Library, and historical reenactments in collaboration with the National WASP World War II Museum. Interactive pop up activities and drone demonstrations offer hands-on learning, and visitors can get information on how to take a free flight. Presented in partnership with the National WASP World War II Museum and the Abilene Public Library, this showcase provides a variety of experiences for different interests. Admission to Spark is free during the event.

A free, family friendly art activity takes place in the museum studio, inspired by the current exhibit. Offered every Saturday, this program provides a way for families to create together while connecting with what is on display.
