☀️ 8/4 Summer Fun Days! at Discovery Center - Amarillo , TX 2026
Summertime should be all about sandboxes, sun, science, and play. Bring kids for a fun day at the Discovery Center with hands-on science activities, outdoor time, free play, and a space theater experience. Half-day and full-day options are available, with registration tied to the camper’s upcoming grade level, and full-day campers needing to be at least 5 years old on the first day. PreK campers must be able to use the toilet independently.
Don Harrington Discovery CenterComedy Open Mic
Yellow City Comedy hosts a free open mic at Crackin' Crab on Soncy with seafood, drinks, and plenty of laughs. Anyone is welcome to try a set or relax in the crowd. The material is not family friendly and may not be suitable for children. This recurring night happens on the first and third Wednesday of each month. Performer sign-ups are available, and it is billed as an early bird open mic.

Weekly Wednesday camps for children in grades 1 through 4 focus on STEM-rich nature exploration on the High Plains. Taking place all summer in Amarillo, sessions offer both full day and half day options. Participants take part in hands-on outdoor projects, guided hikes along the trail system, and interactive lessons led by dedicated local educators. The setting emphasizes safety, curiosity, and meaningful time outside. This program is separate from The Don Harrington Discovery Center's 2026 summer camps.
