The McFaddin-Ward House Museum presents a free public talk, Mostly Texas: Robert Rauschenberg at 100, featuring Kristen Clevenson, assistant curator at the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation in New York City. In the museum’s Visitor Center Lecture Hall, Clevenson will trace the life and legacy of Texas-born artist Robert Rauschenberg, whose six-decade career spanned painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, and performance. The program highlights his enduring connection to his home state, including a memorable 1993 letter to Governor Ann Richards signed, Love from me in Florida + mostly Texas. Clevenson has served at the Foundation since 2019, curated Robert Rauschenberg: Signs and Signals (1964–94), and holds degrees from Hunter College and the University of Virginia. These museum lectures are free and open to the public, with limited seating. In conjunction with the program, a separate complimentary guided visit for up to 30 guests to the Robert Rauschenberg exhibit at the Museum of the Gulf Coast is planned.
