Garth House 11th Annual Designer Purse Bingo!

The 11th annual Designer Purse Bingo takes place at the Beaumont Civic Center and features a lively night of bingo with Mexican food and drinks, perfect for an evening out with friends. Details about sponsorships, table reservations, and individual tickets will be announced soon. Garth House, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Southeast Texas since 1991, conducts recorded forensic interviews for children in alleged physical or sexual abuse cases in a setting that feels more like a home than a clinic. Counseling is offered at no cost to children and non-offending family members, and services include family advocacy and care coordination for survivors of child sex trafficking. The organization serves Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Newton, Orange, and Tyler counties and works with around 900 children each year.

2026 Spring Student Film Showcase

The Student Film Showcase from the Lamar University Department of Communication and Media returns each spring, giving student filmmakers a chance to share their work with a public audience. It also serves as a networking hub for Southeast Texas filmmakers and content creators. Students will be able to meet local professionals and connect with film enthusiasts from across the area. Community Trivia Night @ The Forge: The First Test Run! 🧠🍻

The Forge is launching its first Trivia Night, a laid-back community get-together designed to bring Beaumont neighbors together and spark conversations with local business owners and creators. It offers a quieter, more relaxed alternative to typical bar trivia, making it easy to meet new people whether you have lived in town for years or are just getting to know the downtown scene. The game features five rounds of mixed-difficulty general knowledge questions, all answered the old-fashioned way with pen and paper. Teams can include up to four people, and solo participants are welcome and can be matched with a team on arrival. It is free to play. The event is BYOB and snack friendly, so feel free to bring favorite drinks and food, even a whole pizza for the table. Winners will take home the first Forge Golden Brain trophy along with local bragging rights, and there are additional bonus prizes from resident business owners at the hub. Doors open before the quiz so there is time to claim a table, get snacks set up, and meet someone new, then Round 1 begins and the evening concludes with champions announced.

The MotorClothes team presents a head to toe riding gear demonstration featuring helmets, jackets, boots, and eyewear. Sales provides an overview of H-D models. Attendees can test ride any bike or try the JumpStart, and anyone who completes a test ride receives a free TMCHD T-shirt. A $250 discount on a prepaid maintenance plan is available during the event. Celebrate furry friends at Chick-fil-A Dowlen Road with Dogs in the Drive-Thru. Guests who bring a dog through the drive-thru receive a gift with any purchase, available while supplies last. The offer is limited to one gift per dog, and participation requires that your dog be present at the drive-thru. It is a relaxed way to grab a meal while including your pup in the outing. X Riders Cup showcases an international lineup of elite freestyle motocross athletes in a head to head stunt competition. Riders represent their countries while competing in categories such as Best Whip, Best Trick, Freestyle and more. The competition features massive jumps and technical skill, with dirt bikes clearing gaps of more than 75 feet and reaching heights around 45 feet. Suitable for all ages.

2025 TASIMJAE Winner: Gail Binagia Opening Reception

An opening reception at The Art Studio, Inc. honors the 2025 TASIMJAE Winner, Gail Binagia, with a solo exhibition in the Main Gallery. The artist will be in attendance. Running concurrently in the Maudee Gallery is the second annual TASIMRAE, also called The Rejects Show, featuring works submitted but not selected for the 2026 TASIMJAE. Prairie Fire: Opening Reception

North Texas ceramic artist Holly Grey presents a new western themed exhibition at J. Alexander Pottery Co. titled Prairie Fire. The opening reception includes an artist talk, with refreshments featuring wine, beer, other beverages, and catered fare. Grey’s ceramics reflect on the American frontier and the complex legacy of Manifest Destiny, shaped in part by her upbringing on the Kansas prairie near the Oregon and Chisholm Trails. She holds a B.A. from Kansas State University and an M.B.A. from Texas Woman’s University, and has also studied at the Kansas City Art Institute, the Hartford Art School, and La Meridiana International School of Ceramics in Tuscany. Her work has been exhibited widely across the United States, including selection for the San Angelo North American Ceramic Competition at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, and recognition as a third place winner in the Texas Juries Exhibition at Art Space111 Gallery in Fort Worth. St. Michael's 15th Annual Mediterranean Festival

Hosted by St. Michael’s parish in Beaumont, this festival celebrates Middle Eastern and Hellenic culture. It began in 2009 and builds on the parish’s St. Michael’s Syrian Dinner, first served in 1909. The all-ages event draws more than 7,000 attendees annually and includes food, music, dancing, church tours, a shopping bazaar, and activities for children. Proceeds each year support a local nonprofit, with this year’s beneficiary being Inspire Encourage Achieve.

Lecture – Preserving the Past, Cultivating the Future: The Antique Rose Emporium Journey

A free public lecture at the McFaddin-Ward House Museum, held in the Visitor Center Lecture Hall, spotlights the journey of the Antique Rose Emporium. Co-owner Jim Keeter Jr. shares how a modest operation became an eight-acre rose garden, nursery, and gift shop in historic Independence, Texas, and how its focus on old garden roses guides ongoing breeding and growing work. The program follows the path from early beginnings to recognition across the country and considers what this legacy means for roses and the gardeners who care for them. Keeter developed his passion for plants while studying range land ecology and management at Texas A&M University, then built a career in ranch brokerage, landscape planning, and plant sourcing. After working with his father’s firm and establishing his own business, he and his wife Kim purchased the Antique Rose Emporium, where he now shares resilient roses and ecological garden ideas with visitors from across the country. Museum lectures are admission-free and open to the public, and seating is limited. A recording will be available online after the program.

Clay Handbuilding Classes at TASI (May)

Explore clay from start to finish in a six-session handbuilding course taught by master ceramist Greg Busceme Sr. Learn essential handbuilding methods along with glazing and raku firing, and complete original ceramic pieces to take home. This class is for adults 16 and older. Materials are included, and the fee is $100 per person. Space is limited, and advance registration is required for each student. Class fees are tax deductible and nonrefundable. Credit transfers to another class or to another student may be requested up to one week before the course begins. A practical class focused on beef tallow shows how it is rendered step by step, how to store it, and ways to use it in the kitchen and around the home. A local rancher shares insights into her family's beef operation along with real-life tips to put into practice right away. The session is presented by J. Storme Birdwell of The Crunchy Cowgal, a fourth-generation cattle producer and local business owner. Topics include rendering guidance, everyday applications for cooking and home products, storage and safety basics, and the importance of locally raised beef. The Filthy Heathens bring a genre-blending show to Soggy Bottom Saloon’s Memorial Stage, presented outdoors with a $15 cover. DJ Fire sets the tone with a pre-party, and the Dust & Diamonds Beach is open to VIP members. The band took shape during the pandemic when Bronson Hetzer, Ryan Palcic, and Captain Craig Bishop connected musically, then expanded with guitarists Cody Doench and Dawson Stepp to complete a five-piece lineup. Red Cross lifeguard classes at BISD Nataorium currently have openings. Build skills that focus on helping others through structured lifeguard instruction. If travel is easier, classes can also be provided at your location. Message for details.

A grand opening celebrates the new shared space of CJ’s Cookie Counter, Boss Lady Books, and Mended TX. House of Wind

Teen Luau Dance

Get into a tropical groove at a luau-themed dance created for teens. Enjoy lively music, friendly games, and a sunny island atmosphere. Grass skirts, Hawaiian shirts, and flip-flops are encouraged to boost the fun. Bring friends and your best luau spirit. This event is intended for teens ages 13 to 17 with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Family Picnic and General Assembly

This event at Rogers Park brings together a family picnic and a community meeting with food and games. Filipino nurses can connect with peers and expand their network.

Clay Handbuilding Classes at TASI (June)

Explore clay from start to finish in a six session handbuilding course led by master ceramist Greg Busceme, Sr. Participants will learn core handbuilding techniques, then move into glazing and raku firing. Create ceramic pieces to take home at the end. This class is for adults 16 and older, and all materials are included. The cost is $100 per person. Space is limited, so advance registration is required for every student. Registration fees are tax deductible and not refundable. To transfer credit to another class or to another student, email education@artstudio.org at least one week before the class begins. A workshop series focused on special needs, known as Lunch n Learn, is beginning at Elsa’s Greek Grill. The first session will be led by Dorene Philpot, a special education lawyer.

JUNE⛱️ SETX Women of Influence

The June gathering of Southeast Texas Women of Influence offers meaningful connections, a sense of community, and fresh inspiration as the season gets underway. With a summer-focused theme that emphasizes growing strong communities through activity, growth, and mutual support, the program features representatives from the YMCA of Southeast Texas sharing how they serve the region year round. Topics include family programs, summer camps and youth enrichment, youth sports and fitness, after school support, and opportunities for senior wellness and engagement. Their efforts help strengthen families, support children, and enhance community health. The event takes place at Wesley Methodist Church in Beaumont and is open to newcomers.

City of Beaumont Juneteenth Celebration 2026

The City of Beaumont Juneteenth Celebration returns to downtown Beaumont, uniting the community for an evening of live entertainment, cultural showcases, and a heartfelt salute to the history and meaning of Juneteenth. The festivities take place inside the Beaumont Civic Center, offering a comfortable, air-conditioned setting away from the summer heat. Music takes center stage with the legendary Zapp Band delivering their unmistakable funk and favorites like “More Bounce to the Ounce” and “Computer Love.” The lineup also features Brian Jack and the Zydeco Gamblers, NuSoul & Blacque Koffee, and the SETX Linesteppers. Erik Tee of Magic 102.5 hosts and keeps the momentum going with upbeat mixes. Families will find plenty to do in the H-E-B Kids Zone, which includes games, face painting, hands-on crafts, and other interactive activities designed for younger guests. A variety of food options will be available to satisfy different tastes. For a smooth experience, note that tents, chairs, coolers, canopies, and pets are not allowed inside the venue. BBQ pits and other cooking equipment are prohibited unless the individual is an approved, pre-permitted vendor. All vendors and booths must be pre-registered. Admission is free and open to the public. Appreciation goes to ExxonMobil as the signature sponsor, Del Papa Distributing as the stage sponsor, H-E-B as the Kids Zone sponsor, and Giglio Distributing as a partner sponsor. Nonprofit booth applications are open and may close once spaces sell out. Merchandise vendors are not accepted. Commercial businesses can inquire about sponsorship opportunities.

Stark Trading Card Show II

Collectors and players will find a full day of card action at Holiday Inn & Suites Beaumont-Plaza, where more than 100 tables feature buying, selling, and trading across sports cards, TCG, and other favorites. General admission is free, and an early entry option is available for 10 dollars. Competitive play includes two tournaments hosted by Stark Trading Co. The Pokémon League tournament has a 20 dollar entry fee, with awards that include a booster box for first place, an ETB for second, a bundle for third, three packs for fourth, two packs for fifth through eighth, and a booster pack for every participant. The Magic the Gathering Precon tournament has a 10 dollar entry fee, with prizes that include a booster box for first, a bundle for second, collector packs for third and fourth, three packs for fifth through eighth, and a booster pack for all players. Attendees can bring binders and decks for trades and games, and vendors can inquire about table availability and pricing.

America 250: Culture and Community

Beaumont Heritage Society marks America’s 250th year with a multicultural fair that showcases Beaumont’s communities, traditions, and stories. This free, family-friendly gathering features food trucks offering diverse options for purchase, a vendor marketplace, and a special exhibit on the first floor of the John Jay French Museum. Representatives of cultural groups from Southeast Texas and nearby communities will be on site to discuss their missions, histories, and contributions to Beaumont. Picnics are allowed on the grounds, and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. For everyone’s comfort and safety, please do not bring glass containers, tobacco, alcohol, or pets, with the exception of service animals. Supported by the Southeast Texas Arts Council, this celebration focuses on shared heritage, community pride, and the many voices that continue to shape Beaumont across generations.

Beaumont Renegades Vs. Oregon Lightning

Excitement builds in Beaumont as the Renegades make their return to the gridiron, bringing a surge of hometown energy back to the city. A look at available seating is planned, along with the official opening of ticket sales. Fans can fill the stands, raise the volume, and show what Renegade Nation represents. The team is back in action and the city is ready to rally.

Art in Motion: Yoga in the Gallery - July Class

An instructor guides a yoga class held inside the galleries of the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, offering a peaceful setting surrounded by artwork. This new wellness offering is free, with registration required, and donations are welcome. Please arrive 15 minutes early. The program is supported by Be Well Beaumont, an initiative of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and sponsored by ExxonMobil.
