VA Burial Benefits Informational Event
An informational briefing at Saltgrass Steak House highlights VA burial benefits. Veterans and their spouses can learn what is available at national or state veterans cemeteries and the steps to receive all eligible benefits. Lunch will be provided at no cost. There is no obligation to participate. Attendees may also receive a complimentary Veterans Planning Guide that includes the forms needed to help secure burial benefits for honorably discharged veterans. Seating is limited.
Saltgrass Steak HouseElementary Book Club- The Unicorn Rescue Society
A monthly book club for children ages 6 to 8 invites young readers to discuss the selected book and take part in a brief activity. Families can support reading at home as needed, and participants are asked to arrive having finished all or most of the book. The first ten children to register will receive a library copy to check out, limited to one per family. Selections include adventures like The Unicorn Rescue Society: The Creature of the Pines by Adam Gidwitz. Pre-registration is required and can be completed online, in person, or by calling the Children’s Desk at 936-522-2754. If accommodations are needed to participate, please contact the host library location at least three days before the program.

Singo Bingo adds a musical twist to bingo at Hacienda Mis Padres Mexican Grill. Songs take the place of numbers, and players mark their cards as the music plays and sing along. Cash prizes are available, including a cash pot and gift cards. Happy hour features $4 margaritas, and there are food specials for the occasion. It is a lively evening of music, games, and friendly competition.
