This weekly drop-in craft session provides all the supplies for a different project each week. No advance registration is required, simply stop by and dive into creative fun, with craft options starting at $5 per person. Wear clothing that can handle splashes and spills, since some activities can be messier than others, and aprons are available though not foolproof. The organizers aim to bring hands-on art to the community every day and are working toward a dedicated studio space. Watch for additional creative offerings that will help make that goal a reality. If there is something your child has been eager to try, they welcome ideas for future projects.
Ignite Your Style: A Custom Hat Burning Workshop
Transform a plain hat into a personal statement at a hands-on workshop in the Art Center of Corpus Christi Lockett Gallery. Learn creative techniques such as painting, embellishing, and decorative burning to craft a one-of-a-kind piece. All supplies, tools, and templates are provided, along with friendly guidance every step of the way. No experience is required, just bring your creative spark. The session is led by April Ancira-Martinez, an artist and art teacher who owns a mobile paint party business. She draws inspiration from reading, gardening, and time in nature, and balances her artistic pursuits with family life as a mother and grandmother. She is also training in art therapy, creating work that reflects her own journey while helping others express themselves. Please note that the Art Center does not offer class exchanges, and refunds are only issued if the Art Center cancels the class.
