Guests can expect a menu sourced entirely from nearby producers, featuring Gulf Coast seafood, peak seasonal harvests, local meats and dairy, and thoughtfully crafted sauces, relishes, and desserts prepared by leading Coastal Bend chefs. Live music, a silent auction, and a community celebration add to the experience, with proceeds supporting the organization’s mission to improve access to, education about, and advocacy for affordable, nutrient dense foods in South Texas. Support helps power weekly farmers markets, youth gardening and culinary programs, cooking workshops and chef demonstrations, producer development and local agriculture support, and environmental education projects such as the Banquette Sensory Rain Garden. Class sizes are limited, every instructor is certified in CPR and First Aid, and the program holds a license from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Transportation from swim lessons can be arranged when parents notify staff in advance, and lunch is provided through the GPISD Summer Food Program. Families can choose the full eight-week option at $90 per child each week, plus a $60 registration fee, with the registration fee and first week’s tuition due at the time of enrollment. Teen Club is a free program for ages 13 to 16 hosted in the TM Clark gym. The program features off-site field trips to Northshore 8 Movie Theater and swimming at the Portland Aquatics Center. Family Art Time: Sketch Sessions
The Art Center of Corpus Christi offers twice weekly drawing sessions where kids and families of all ages can sit down and sketch together. Materials are provided, including step by step guides, tutorial videos, prompts, and examples, and participants vote on the following week’s theme. Each session features a different drawing theme. The program is free, and participants may bring a personal sketchbook if they prefer. At the end of each meeting, sketchbooks are turned in to facilitators for safekeeping until the next session. After the final session, a sketchbook tour during the Kidswalk event allows participants to share their summer work and collect signatures from fellow sketchers. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and drop offs are not permitted.

Seawinds Fighter Practice 2026 I
Seawinds hosts regular fighter practices at local parks to accommodate a variety of schedules. Practices are free and open to spectators. Adults who want to try it can borrow loaner equipment if they are 18 or older and sign a waiver, and newcomers are eased into the activity. Youth Combat is available for ages 6 to 17 using foam padded weapons, with 16 and 17 year olds possibly using adult equipment on a case by case basis. Loaner gear is available and youth participation is free, but a parent or legal guardian must accompany youth at all times and sign the waiver. All practices depend on the weather and plans can change, so announcements are posted as soon as possible. Look for a small blue and yellow seashell banner to find the group. Questions about practices or SCA fighting can be directed to the Knight Marshal or Rapier Marshal. Covid precautions are encouraged. Food and drink are not provided other than bottled water, and individuals may bring their own and share at their own risk. Participation in any in person activity may involve exposure to infectious diseases, and attendees are asked to take any additional steps they feel are necessary to protect their health and the health of those in their care.
