Sunday Family Funday Art Workshops

Free, family oriented art workshops welcome children, teens, and parents at the Garcia Center. Kids ages 5 to 15 explore a new hands-on project each session with Ms. Graycie Rhoades, working with different materials and crafts. Parents paint with guidance from Monica Marie Garcia, who introduces a new artwork each session. Teens 13 to 17 take part in a two-session ceramics class with Eugene Solis and Dr. Leonel Monsivais, learning both the potter’s wheel and clay hand-building. Attendance at both weeks is required for the teen ceramics track. Preregistration is required and space is limited. Sponsored by Valero Benefit for Children and KSpace.

Swing Zone Sunday Class

Sunday classes at Swing Zone offer focused training in agility and hitting. Instruction is provided by state champion London coaches Coach Salinas and Coach Chavez, with added guidance from Coach Carr. Agility work targets speed, quickness, and overall athleticism, while hitting sessions emphasize mechanics and consistency. Pricing is available for a full month at $150 or as a same-day drop-in at $45.

Mud Magic with A&N Ceramics

Dive into clay at a welcoming one day ceramics workshop at the Art Center Clay Studio. Led by Nichole Schiller and Adam Haney of A&N Ceramics, this hands-on session invites beginners and anyone seeking a refresher to learn both wheel throwing and hand-building in a supportive setting. Try the potter’s wheel with pre-centered clay to shape your own piece, then explore hand-building techniques to personalize your work with textures and stamps. All supplies are provided. After the session, projects stay at the studio to dry and be fired. Instructors will apply a clear or selected glaze before the final firing, and finished pieces will be ready for pickup in about two to three weeks. The fee is $50 for members and $70 for the public. Please note that class exchanges are not available, and refunds are issued only if the Art Center cancels the class.

Chunky Knit Blanket Workshop

Settle in for a cozy, hands-on workshop where you will craft a chunky knit blanket with step-by-step guidance. Instruction is designed for all skill levels, and a variety of yarn colors will be available. Finished sizes can range from a snug lap throw to a twin-size blanket, depending on your knitting tension. The base registration includes four skeins of yarn. After signing up, you will receive a text with color options and can select up to two colors, with additional skeins available for an extra charge. Every person in attendance must have a paid reservation, and observers are not permitted. Groups making separate reservations can be seated together by adding the shared group name in the Special Request box. Plan to arrive a little early to get settled. Attendees are encouraged to review the organizer’s age, what to bring, and refund or cancellation policies on the website before booking.

Moonlit Messy Mornings

A weekly drop-in craft session where all materials are provided to make a different project each time. No registration is required, and activities begin at $5 per person. Some projects can get a bit messy, and aprons are available, though spills may still happen, so wearing clothing that can handle art splatters is recommended. The organizers aim to bring hands-on art to the community every day and are working toward a dedicated studio space, with additional creative offerings planned to support that goal.

Basket Sewing with Dani Osborn

Learn the basics of sewing while creating a sturdy fabric basket in a single session led by instructor Dani Osborn. This relaxed, hands on class focuses on simple techniques that result in a functional piece you can use at home. It is open to participants ages 14 and older and takes place in the Art Center of Corpus Christi Community Gallery. Participants should bring a sewing machine in good working order and a large spool of preferred thread. Two fat quarters, which are 18 by 22 inch pieces of fabric, are optional for adding a personal touch. All other supplies are provided, and materials can also be found at Singer Sewing Center. A limited number of sewing machines, up to three, may be reserved from the Art Center on a first come, first served basis. About the instructor, Dani is a Texas native who began quilting in 2005 and has grown her skills from small projects to intricate collage quilts. Please note that the Art Center does not offer class exchanges, and refunds are issued only if the Art Center cancels the class.

AYCE Crawfish Sundays

All you can eat crawfish returns on Sundays, featuring bayou-sourced boils stacked high. The unlimited option is available at the Downtown location only for $49.99 per person. Crawfish is also offered daily by the pound at both Downtown and Southside, priced at $12.99 for one pound or $29.99 for two pounds with fixings. Live music by Aaron Jacob is part of the experience, and families can enjoy kids face painting on Sundays.

Sunday Funday

Sunny vibes set the tone for Sunday Funday, a relaxed gathering for the Coastal Bend with a steaming crawfish boil, free live music, and family-friendly fun. A crawfish boil from The Grove arrives hot and well seasoned, served in generous mounds while it lasts. Local musicians create laid-back, feel-good sounds on the Lawn, with no cover charge and no tickets required. 6wk Intro to Wheel Throwing with Nichole Schiller

Explore the essentials of wheel throwing in a beginner-friendly, six-week class. Under the guidance of ceramic artist and educator Nichole Schiller, participants practice centering, pulling, and shaping clay on the wheel. Each weekly session runs three hours and emphasizes hands-on practice with individualized instruction, supporting the creation of both functional and decorative pieces while building a solid foundation. Schiller is the Education Coordinator at K Space Contemporary, a nonprofit arts organization. She co-founded A&N Ceramics with her partner, Adam Haney, in 2020 and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi, with an emphasis in sculpture and ceramics. Her teaching highlights creativity, strong technique, and appreciation for the craft. All materials are provided. Member registration is $220 and the public rate is $240. Class exchanges are not available, and refunds are issued only if the Art Center cancels the class.

Eclair & Cream Puff Making Class

Explore the art of French pâte à choux in an interactive, hands-on class at Cabana Pantry. The Nueces County A&M Club will host Aggie Muster and its annual banquet aboard the USS Lexington, with guest speaker Rene Casas '89. Seawinds Fighter Practice 2026 I

Seawinds offers twice-weekly fighter practices to fit a range of schedules. Sunday sessions meet at West Guth Park, with the first Sunday of each month moving to Cole Park, and Wednesday practices are held at East Cliff Park. Activities depend on the weather and details may change, with announcements shared as soon as possible. A small blue and yellow seashell banner will mark the practice area. Guests are welcome to watch, and participation is free. Adults interested in trying it can use loaner equipment after signing a waiver and must be 18 or older. Youth Combat is available for ages 6 to 17 using foam-padded weapons, and those 16 to 17 may be approved individually to use adult equipment. Loaner gear is available, there is no fee to participate, and youth must be accompanied at all times by a parent or legal guardian who will also sign the waiver. Questions about practices or SCA fighting can be directed to the Knight Marshal at marshal@seawinds.ansteorra.org or the Rapier Marshal at rapier@seawinds.ansteorra.org. COVID-related precautions are encouraged. The Shire does not provide food or drink other than bottled water, and attendees may bring their own and share at their own discretion. Gulf Coast Humane Society is bringing its low-cost and free offerings together into a single Community Clinic delivered in a convenient drive-thru format. Open to all, this clinic provides the same services in one stop and focuses on limited veterinary care. Physical wellness exams are not included. Attendance is capped at 50 pets per clinic, with a maximum of four pets per vehicle. Birdiest Festival in America

Experience spring migration on the Gulf Coast and private ranch hotspots, including areas of the world-famous King Ranch. There will be multiple full or half-day field trips, providing flexibility to attend presentations, workshops, and guided bird walks. Two pre-trips to Rio Grande Valley and Texas Hill Country, and one post-trip to Rio Grande Valley are also options. There will be a Raptor Project presentation, a vendor trade show, a Texas BBQ Welcome Dinner, artisan booths, a Family Fun Day, and a keynote. The festival will take place at the South Texas Botanical Gardens and Nature Center. Keynote speaker David Sarkozi will present “Beyond the Birds of Texas,” sharing insights that go beyond field guide information. Pastel World - MOC Contest

Create a MOC inspired by a pastel-themed world and enter it into this build contest. Entries must be set on the specified baseplate size, listed as 10 by 10 and also described as 32 by 32 studs. Seawinds hosts an all-day revel at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Corpus Christi, also known as U2C3. Outdoors behind the church, there is room and shade for fighting, archery, and thrown weapons. Participants should bring SCA-legal gear, though loaner equipment is available, and instruction is offered for beginners in fighting, archery, and axe or spear throwing. There is no charge from the SCA or Seawinds to participate. The venue requests a $5 facilities fee per attendee. Alcohol is not permitted, and everyone is asked to clean up before leaving.

Market Days brings a welcoming pop-up marketplace to the Herrman & Herrman office in Corpus Christi, where neighbors can meet local makers, browse unique goods, and support small businesses. Held one Saturday each month, the parking area turns into a lively spot for shopping and connection, and admission is free for all. Artisans, small enterprises, and creators are invited to set up shop. Booth spaces cost nothing and are claimed as vendors arrive. Participants provide their own tent, tables, displays, and a method to accept payments. Standard areas are roughly ten by ten feet, with extra room arranged on site when needed. Crochet Basics

Learn the essentials of crochet at the Art Center of CC Bayview Gallery with instructor Amber Buhidar. Designed for newcomers and those returning to the craft, the session covers how to hold a hook, keep steady tension, make a slip knot, and build a foundation chain, with practical tips shared along the way. Participants work toward a small first project such as a bookmark or a simple chain bracelet or necklace, and leave with a handmade item. Ages 16 and up are welcome. Amber tailors guidance for learners with prior experience too, introducing skills like single crochet and other techniques that match each person’s level. All materials are provided, including yarn and hooks. If you prefer to bring your own, a medium weight 4 yarn and a hook in sizes H 5 mm, I 5.5 mm, or J 6 mm will work well. Member pricing is 25 dollars and public pricing is 30 dollars. Left-handed participants can let the instructor know in advance so she can prepare left-handed techniques. The Art Center does not offer class exchanges, and refunds are issued only if the class is canceled by the Art Center.

Mothers Day Ceramic Workshop with Lorena Gonzalez

Celebrate Mother’s Day with a relaxed, hands-on ceramics workshop centered on creativity and connection. In this single-session class, participants decorate a pre-made mug or vase prepared by the instructor, with each piece timed perfectly for surface design so the focus stays on personal expression rather than wheel work. Students learn how to safely add texture and stamping, apply underglazes for color and detail, and refine their ideas with guidance on composition and placement. All materials, tools, glazes, and firings are included. Every participant will finish one piece that will be fired and made ready for pickup, with notifications sent when it is complete in about three to four weeks. No prior ceramics experience is required. The workshop is led by Lorena Gonzalez, whose lifelong connection to art began in childhood. Growing up on a ranch along the Rio Grande River, she experimented with natural clay from her family’s land and created pigments from native fruits and plants, later expanding into acrylics and developing a strong affinity for oils. 2026 PRL Single-man #2

A single-day, boat-only redfish tournament takes place at Doc's Seafood and Steaks, featuring a live weigh-in held during the Corpus Christi Crawfish Festival. The field is limited to the first 30 teams. Anglers target three redfish over the course of the day, each measuring 20 to 28 inches in Texas, and only artificial lures are allowed. Entry is $1,000, with an optional $250 Calcutta paying first, second, and third at 50, 30, and 20 percent for those entered, plus a $250 Big Fish pot.

14th Annual Farm to Table: Field to Shore Brunch & Fundraiser
