Parry's Pizzeria & TaphouseZac Wilkerson
Zac Wilkerson delivers a soul rock sound with country roots, blending Americana, soul, country, and rock through commanding vocals, driving guitar, and heartfelt songwriting. His path into music took off after an unexpected entry led to a win at The Blue Light Live Singer Songwriter contest in 2011, earning a solo acoustic slot at Larry Joe Taylor's Texas Music Festival the next year in Stephenville, Texas. Since then he has built a strong following throughout the Texas music scene and beyond, with songs reaching nationally syndicated and regional radio as well as local and prime-time network television. Raised singing in a country church from the age of four and shaped by a home collection of country, soul, Motown, rock, and folk records, he was playing piano and guitar and writing songs by twelve. The result is a contemporary roots sound that can evoke Aretha Franklin, Bill Withers, Bonnie Raitt, and Levon Helm.

Fort Bend County Fair GroundsZPremium
Premium Encounters presents ZPremium at Infinity Cards, a custom tournament format that blends Premium and Standard play with an added rule and its own evolving banlist. Deck construction follows special restrictions, including no Overtriggers, and each participant must provide a deck code. The main event uses Swiss pairings in best of one, with 35 minute rounds and 10 additional minutes for end of round procedures. If a match is still in progress when time is called, players take three extra turns with the current turn counted as zero. At the end of the third turn or when the extra time ends, the player with the lower damage total wins. If damage is tied, the game moves to sudden death where the next point of damage immediately decides the result, even if a Heal Trigger would otherwise resolve. A cut to Top 8 occurs if attendance exceeds 16 players, otherwise the cut is to Top 4, and the cut stage is also Swiss best of one. Entry is 15 dollars. Prizes include exclusive playmats for the Top 4 and store credit for the Top 3, allocated by placement at 50, 35, and 15 percent. Full rules and the banlist will be posted on the event page, and the list will be updated after each event to keep the format fresh.

Lost Creek ParkFree Chapter Program Thursday July 9 at 7pm: "Tracing Texas Through Time: A Journey in Archeology"”
At the Rosenberg Civic Center, the Coastal Prairie Chapter presents a free monthly program, Tracing Texas Through Time: A Journey in Archeology, with speaker Sharon Menegaz. The talk surveys more than 21,000 years of human presence in Texas, explaining how archeologists define the Paleoindian, Archaic, and Late Prehistoric periods and what those eras reveal about life before written records. Drawing on significant sites featured by Texas Beyond History and on discoveries from Texas Archeological Society field schools over the past 25 years, the presentation shows how artifacts, tools, food remains, and shifting technologies help reconstruct how people adapted to Texas environments across millennia. Topics include Ice Age hunter gatherers, the development of trade networks, pottery, and the bow and arrow, outlining cultural changes long before European contact. Modern excavations and volunteer field schools are also highlighted to show how ongoing work continues to expand understanding of the past. Menegaz has been active in the Texas Archeological Society for 25 years, focusing on outreach, education, and membership. She serves on the society’s Public Outreach, Education, and Membership Committee and is part of the Texas Historical Commission’s Archeological Stewards Network. There is no cost to attend and the public is welcome. The program is offered in person at the Rosenberg Civic Center, and a virtual option via Zoom will be available, with registration followed by a confirmation email that provides connection details.
