Campers connect closely with more than 200 friendly farm animals, including goats, cows, bunnies, ponies, and others. iDENTITY: A CZECH GRAPHIC DESIGN LOVE STORY

Presented at River Oaks Theatre, this 85-minute film follows renowned Czech-American auctioneer Nicholas Lowry from New York to Prague as he seeks what shapes and defines Czech national identity. He visits design landmarks in Zlín, Litomyšl, Brno, and Pilsen, exploring the legacies of Tomáš Baťa, Josef Váchal, Alfons Mucha, and Ladislav Sutnar, and even tasting Pilsen’s famous beer. Along the way he meets contemporary artists Petr Babák, Martin Pecina, and Aleš Najbrt, while also reconnecting with his own Czech roots. Directed by Petr Smělík and Kateřina Mikulcová, it is presented in Czech and English with English subtitles and offers a light, playful tour of the Czech Republic’s graphic design heritage.

Designed for gravel riders of all experience levels, from newcomers to athletes preparing for a race. The group departs from the shop, eases in on bikeways, then pushes the pace on the levee, with several regroup stops along the way. Strong lights are required. Bring navigation, such as Google Maps on your phone or a preloaded route on a GPS device. The route covers about 23 miles at a pace of roughly 13 to 18 mph. Morning 🌞 Farm Camp - July

This morning farm camp invites children into a lively, outdoor learning experience where science, nature, and agriculture come to life through play, discovery, and direct interaction with animals. Campers take part in real farm routines that build confidence, spark curiosity, and encourage a sense of responsibility. Participants help with everyday animal care by preparing feed, refreshing water, tidying bedding, and observing behavior while learning how different species are looked after. Friendly residents they may meet include Oliver the mini donkey, Hercules the Highland cow, Luna the giant Flemish rabbit, Stevie and Lola the hedgehogs, Ranger the miniature pony, Herman the duck, and Perry the sheep, along with many more animals on the farm. These encounters introduce topics such as habitats, nutrition, life cycles, and humane treatment. After the morning chores, guided lessons blend fun with learning through interactive explorations of animal behavior and life science, simple farm-inspired experiments, and STEM challenges that emphasize observation and problem solving. Midday brings a creative break with farm-themed art projects, cooperative outdoor games, and sensory play using natural materials. Small-group activities are tailored to different ages, with opportunities for siblings and friends to remain together. Each session features hands-on animal care, a focused educational activity, time for crafts and games, and a provided snack.
