A day at Hawaiian Waters-Garland is planned for tweens and teens ages 11 to 16, hosted by Mrs. Mimi of Israelite Kids Academy, a DFW private Kindergarten through 8th grade hybrid homeschool and summertime learning program. Families will meet at the park and handle their own admission and any related fees. Those who are not enrolled in the academy’s hybrid homeschool or summer camp and want their 11 to 16 year olds to participate can reach out to Mimi at 469-278-KIDS. Attendees are asked to indicate participation on the event page, share the names and ages of the children attending, and non-members should complete the online emergency information form. After signing up, the organizer will provide meetup details and an itinerary, with a plan to convoy together. If plans change, please let the organizer know so the group is not kept waiting. Health and safety guidelines include following CDC recommendations, staying home if sick, and bringing hand sanitizer or wipes. Because this is an outdoor setting with possible exposure to pollen, dust, and insects like mosquitoes and bees, participants are encouraged to bring any needed allergy medications or EpiPens, and repellant if desired. Bringing a water bottle is recommended to stay hydrated. Activities are weather dependent and may change if conditions require it. The organizer notes that payments are accepted by Cash or Zelle only, with no refunds, no credit or partial payments, and non-transferable arrangements.

This monthly tournament uses Group Match Play with four player games, and participants rack up as many matches as possible during the opening session with no eliminations. Standings appear on the TVs throughout. After the session, the top eight advance to a short playoff. The champion receives the actual pinball from the machine they win on, followed by a quick photoshop placing participants into that machine’s backglass.
America 250: Garland's Perspectives Exhibit
Travel back to 1776 and trace 250 years of change in Garland and beyond through a three-part exhibition at Garland City Hall. Curated displays from the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, and the Garland Landmark Museum come together to show how the American Revolution inspired movements around the globe, how Texas evolved across two and a half centuries, and how a community on the Blackland Prairie grew into the bustling city seen today. The exhibit also offers special evening hours during Garland's Juneteenth Celebration and during Red, White & You.

With support from Petco Love, the DAPPv and FVRCP core vaccines are available at no cost for anyone who needs them, with no purchase needed, and they can be obtained on their own or combined with rabies and a microchip for the full low-cost package.
