Pilates Class

Participants help shelter dogs enjoy time outside the kennel in a yard next to the shelter, giving them a fun adventure. 2026 Spring Bi-Annual Plant Sale

A native plant sale fills Walter Hall Park Pavilion with carefully selected grasses and signature flowering plants, all grown at the Galveston Bay Foundation EcoCenter. Shoppers can find plants at the BBQ Shed next to the meeting hall. Volunteer opportunities are available alongside Conservation Stewardship Manager Ricci Simmons and Nursery Operations Specialist Carter Clay. Proceeds directly support the propagation of native plants that help restore habitats across the Galveston Bay area. Volunteers are needed for set up, assistance during the sale, and break down. April 2026 Rain Barrel Workshop

Discover practical ways to capture rainwater and conserve resources at a hands-on rain barrel workshop. The Rain Barrel Program partners with Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages to help reduce stormwater runoff, pollution, and bacteria entering Galveston Bay. The experience includes supply pickup for those who purchase a barrel and kit, a step-by-step installation demonstration, opportunities to learn about native plants, and a Q&A with Galveston Bay Foundation staff. Topics include water-saving tools such as Water My Yard, the environmental benefits of cutting freshwater use and collecting rainwater, and tips for proper rain barrel preparation and installation. Participants who buy a barrel can collect their materials and either attend the in-person installation demo or use a video link for instructions later. After the seminar, browse the native plant sale with potted options, pocket prairies, and more to support local ecosystems. The Slags

The Slags perform at T-Bone Toms in Kemah, a spot that began as a meat market in the 1960s then became T-Bone Tom’s Bar-B-Que in 1974. The menu features hand-cut steaks and seafood, chicken fried steak, gumbo and armadillo eggs, plus burgers ground in house, fresh chicken, pork chops and Southern sides. Brisket, ribs and house-made sausage are smoked over oak, and dishes are prepared fresh each day. Live music is offered six nights a week, providing the backdrop for this show.

Gimmie a Bark - Cinco de Mayo Adoption Event and Pug Races

A festive Cinco de Mayo adoption event pairs with the annual Pug Races at Gimme A Bark. Watch pugs compete across multiple races while placing $1 bets that count as tickets. Before each race, pick the pug you think will win, match the bandana color to the corresponding bucket, and drop in half of your ticket. After the whistle, the first pug to cross the finish line determines the winning bucket. One ticket drawn from that bucket earns half of the betting pot, with the other half benefiting PugHearts Rescue. Races continue with fresh tickets before each round, with a minimum of three and a maximum of five pugs per race, and some rounds include two tickets drawn for door prizes. Spectators may cheer from the sidelines or call to their favorite racer from the finish line. Handlers may not pull, tug, push, or carry any pug. Any pug or pug mix is eligible to race, and other breeds are welcome if leashed and comfortable in a social setting. Refreshments and nachos will be available for a donation. Adoptable pugs will be on site, and those interested in adoption are encouraged to complete an application in advance for pre approval.

Activities take place outdoors, and first-time participants receive a brief orientation covering key food handling and participation guidelines. 5th Annual White Linen Night—A Local Art Affair

An evening of art and music unfolds beneath the live oaks as League City presents the fifth annual White Linen Night, a local art affair set throughout the Historic District with League Park as the starting point. Streets become an art crawl with nearly 100 artist booths, while live musicians perform along the route. Attendees can explore a wide range of styles and mediums, watch artists at work during demonstrations, and see Houston Art Cars showcasing distinctive vehicles. Families will find an art-focused Kid Zone in League Park with guided activities. Food trucks offer plenty of dining options, and local beer, wine, and cider are available. The white linen theme pays homage to a New Orleans tradition of wearing white while socializing outdoors in the summer.

White Linen Night turns the Historic District into a celebration of art, music, and the creative spirit. Tradition calls for light white attire while attendees stroll beneath live oaks, sip refreshing drinks, enjoy delicious food, listen to live performances, and discover the work of local artists. LCHS will open its museums so visitors can experience history and take a cool break from the summer heat. A popular Good Humor man will be fundraising with classic ice cream served from a vintage cart. Member artists have crafted hand painted parchment fans and parasols that are available for purchase. Live music will fill the Garden Classroom, where shaded seating offers a comfortable place to relax. LCHS supports White Linen Night as a tribute to the creativity of the community and old League City.

Barbie Dance Camp (Ages 3–5) in FRIENDSWOOD, TX

Designed for young movers ages 3 to 5, this Barbie-themed camp at Amy Blake’s Academy of Dance blends playful imagination, plenty of pink and sparkle, and beginner-friendly training. Participants explore creative movement, ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop while building confidence and making new friends. Each day includes themed crafts, snacks, and lots of creative play. The week concludes with a small performance for families so dancers can share what they have learned. An early registration rate of $200 is available.

Tinker Tuesday

Enjoy a hands-on session of tinkering and crafting, with pizza provided. Admission is $25 for one child or $45 for two children.

June 2026 CLGMS Monthly Meeting - SPEAKER TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON

The CLGMS monthly meeting at Helen Hall Library will feature a speaker to be announced soon, with details to be updated when available. A show and tell is planned, offering a friendly setting for participants to share rock and mineral specimens, jewelry, or other items, ask questions, and take their pieces home afterward. Attendance is open to non-members. Membership is available for $15 for adults, $20 for a family at the same address, and free for honorary members age 70 and above. Membership includes a monthly newsletter and helps support scholarships and school grants.

Enjoy a hands-on pottery painting experience centered on spending meaningful time with Dad. Choose from a variety of pottery pieces and paint in a relaxed, fun setting. The ticket cost is applied to the selected project, making it easy to focus on creating a keepsake and lasting memories.

The Josh Paul Foundation's 4th Annual Golf Tournament

Hosted by The Josh Paul Foundation at South Shore Harbour Country Club, this 4th annual golf tournament raises funds for a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that honors the legacy of educator Joshua Paul Schwarz and supports the advancement of education through music and health and fitness events. All proceeds benefit the foundation’s scholarship fund and its ongoing activities in CCISD, PISD, and BISD, helping graduating seniors who have faced adversity continue their education beyond high school. The format is a Texas scramble with teams of four, and individual golfers will be paired to complete a foursome. Check-in takes place inside the clubhouse, and participants can warm up on the driving range before play begins. Breakfast and lunch are provided in the Main Dining Hall, and cash is recommended for bar cart service, mulligans, and raffle prize drawings.

White Linen Party Cruise

This cruise features an all-white dress theme and waterfront views of Clear Lake, Kemah, and Galveston Bay. Over two and a half hours, attendees can dance to a live DJ, enjoy a special three-course dinner, and purchase drinks from a cash bar. It suits birthdays, anniversaries, or any reason to celebrate, and accommodates groups of all sizes. Wearing white is encouraged, not required. Cruise details are subject to change at any time. Large parties are seated downstairs.

Guided by experienced instructors, participants build strength, confidence, and resilience while staying active through a variety of games. Sessions take place each day, and the cost is $50 per day. Spots tend to fill quickly each year, and many families choose to enroll for multiple weeks.
