The Continental ClubSunday Funday
Head to Stevenson Park for a Sunday disc golf meetup built around a roaming bag tag challenge paired with a cash mini. Houston Disc Golf, founded in 2011, welcomes players from novice to pro, and play follows PDGA guidelines even though it is not a sanctioned tournament. Scoring is run through UDisc League, and every player is responsible for checking in on the app to avoid disqualification. Annual club membership is $20 for any division and includes a bag tag, and the TD may adjust non members to the appropriate division based on score. Divisions include Novice or Beginner with Orange tags, Recreational with Green tags, Intermediate with Blue tags, Advanced with Red tags, and Open or Pro with Gold Black tags. Optional cash pots are available, $5 for all divisions except Open or Pro at $15. An optional $6 ACE and CTP combo is offered, split between ACE, CTP, and club. The ace payout is $100 for non members, and for current members it is 80 percent of the ace pot with a minimum of $100 and a maximum of $500. The ace pot carries over across Houston Disc Golf bag tag and mini events. Form your own mixed division card with a minimum of three and a maximum of four players. A card that does not follow this rule will be disqualified as a group, and at least three players are required on a card to be eligible for ACE, CTP, or cash pots. Depending on turnout, one or more CTP holes may be in play, and the CTP pot is split equally among winners. Each player may take one mulligan per round. It must be called immediately after the throw, before marking and before another player throws. You cannot walk ahead to inspect your lie first. A mulligan can be used on any hole, including CTP holes. An ace scored with a mulligan counts as a 1 but does not earn the ace pot, and a provisional and a mulligan cannot be used on the same shot. Course guidelines apply. Parking lots, streets, sidewalks, pathways, and areas beyond fences are out of bounds. Play from one meter in from the point the disc last crossed in bounds and add one penalty stroke, with the location agreed upon by the card. Ponds and creeks are out of bounds unless the TD states otherwise. Standing water is casual unless marked. Any disc not over or touching land is out of bounds. Lost discs must be re teed or thrown from the last in bounds location agreed by the card, with a penalty. Missed mandatories go to the drop zone if provided or back to the tee with a penalty. There is no two meter rule. Cash placement ties for first place are settled by a TD selected CTP hole, and all other ties split evenly. Tags are turned in before the round and redistributed after scoring. Top 10 tag ties are broken by the previously lower tag, and all others are auto sorted in UDisc. If you cannot finish or cannot stay to collect your tag, arrange for someone to pick it up in advance, otherwise unclaimed tags are forfeited. Your tag serves as proof of membership, and lost or forfeited tags can be replaced for $5. You must be present to receive cash winnings, and unclaimed cash is forfeited. Payouts follow the Houston Disc Golf chart, pay 30 percent of the field in each division, and return 100 percent of collected cash to players.
