Clear Creek Golf ClubSunday Funday
At Stevenson Park, Houston Disc Golf hosts a roaming bag tag challenge with an optional cash mini that welcomes players from beginners to seasoned pros. Founded in 2011, the club supports all skill levels and provides a friendly setting for competitive play. Scoring is recorded through UDisc League, and each participant is responsible for checking in on the app to remain eligible. Annual membership for any division is $20 and includes a bag tag, and nonmembers may be reassigned to the appropriate division based on performance. Divisions span Novice or Beginner with Orange tags, Recreational Green, Intermediate Blue, Advanced Red, and Open or Pro Gold Black, with optional cash pots available at $5 for most divisions and $15 for Open or Pro. An optional ACE and CTP combo is offered for $6. Ace payouts are set at $100 for nonmembers, while current members receive 80 percent of the ace pot with a minimum of $100 and a maximum of $500. The ace pot carries over across Houston Disc Golf bag tag and mini rounds. Players create mixed division cards of three to four competitors unless the tournament director approves otherwise. At least three players must be on a card to qualify for ACE, CTP, or cash payouts. One or more closest to pin opportunities may be offered depending on turnout, with the pot divided evenly among winners. Each player is allowed a single mulligan per round, which must be declared immediately. An ace made with a mulligan counts as a 1 on the card but does not claim the ace pot. Out of bounds includes parking lots, streets, sidewalks, pathways, fences and anything beyond them. Ponds and creeks are out unless the tournament director specifies otherwise, standing water is casual unless marked, and a missed mandatory requires use of a drop zone if available or a re tee with a penalty. There is no two meter rule. This is not a PDGA sanctioned event, although PDGA guidelines are followed to keep play consistent. Cash ties for first place are decided with a closest to pin hole selected by the tournament director, while other ties split evenly. Tags are turned in before the round and redistributed by score afterward, with top 10 ties settled by the lower previous tag and all others sorted in UDisc. Unclaimed tags are forfeited, and replacement tags cost $5. Cash winnings are paid on site only, payouts follow the Houston Disc Golf chart, 30 percent of each division earns a prize, and all collected cash returns to players.
