Teen Technical Theatre Camp

Teens ages 13 to 18 can explore the world behind the curtain in a hands-on technical theatre camp that builds real production skills. Instructor-led morning workshops focus on portfolio development while covering lighting and sound, set and prop creation, costuming, and stage makeup. An optional afternoon session extends the day with collaborative work alongside professionals to craft set pieces for a future show. Tuition is $200 for the morning-only option and $250 for the full-day experience. Each participant receives a crew T-shirt, benefits from professional feedback, and concludes with a final project and a gallery-style presentation of their portfolio. In this meditative experience, you recline while layers of tone and vibration surround you like gentle waves, with no water involved. Sound-based practices have deep roots across many cultures, including Tibetan and Buddhist traditions, where they have been used to ease discomfort, quiet the mind, and support healing. Immersive tones may encourage the parasympathetic rest-and-digest response, helping slow the heart, release muscle tension, and reduce stress. Sessions can also encourage shifts from active beta brainwaves toward calmer alpha, theta, or delta patterns, and may help organize brain activity in ways that feel mentally clear and physically restful. Researchers continue to study how vibration might influence circulation as well as muscles, cells, bones, and other tissues, along with markers like cortisol and heart rate variability related to stress resilience. Step out of the rush and settle into a quiet, restorative sound experience. This is not a performance, and there are no expectations. Attendees are guided toward stillness while layers of sound move through the space. Crystal singing bowls, chimes, and gong create tones that reach beyond words and encourage deep rest. Some people drift, others reflect, and some simply relax more fully. There is no right way to take part, only an opportunity for the body to recalibrate without competing demands. Bring what helps you get comfortable, such as a mat, pillow, or blanket. There is no set price, and a contribution of $10 to $25 per person is suggested.

Infant Bereavement Support Group – June Session

Parents navigating the loss of an infant can find connection and care in a supportive group setting. This gathering offers a quiet place to share personal stories or simply sit and listen, with space for grief, healing, and understanding among others who have endured a similar loss. The group welcomes anyone who has experienced infant loss at birth or soon after. A licensed, experienced LCSW who specializes in women’s and newborn health facilitates the session and provides guidance grounded in bereavement care. The meeting is held at St. George Regional Hospital in the North Tower Conference Room, Building 1, main floor.

Summer Session of Redemption Rhythms Music & Movement Class

Redemption Rhythms is a free music and movement class led by Ellen Raasch, a licensed educator, musician, and mother of four. Caregivers and little ones spend time singing, dancing, and playing while building rhythm and beat awareness, nurturing vocal development, and practicing fine and gross motor skills. Activities also support early literacy and encourage healthy bonding. The summer session includes a class followed by extra time to chat and enjoy snacks. It is designed for ages 0 to 5 with a caregiver, and siblings are welcome to participate. Registration is available to reserve a spot. There is no fee to attend, and an optional $5 donation per class can help with snacks, supplies, and the use of space.

1 Million Cups is a free networking event that takes place each week. In an on camera conversation, a busy business owner named Jonathan was asked whether attending is worth it, even though his Wednesdays are full. He continues to drive downtown for it every week. Those who are curious often decide for themselves after a single visit.

Summer Session of Redemption Rhythms Music & Movement Class

Caregivers and young children can explore music and movement together in this free class led by Ellen Raasch, a licensed educator, musician, and mother of four. Sessions blend playful activities with purposeful learning, nurturing a sense of rhythm and steady beat while supporting early singing, fine and gross motor development, early literacy, and healthy caregiver–child connection. The summer session features a brief class followed by time to chat and enjoy snacks. Designed for ages 0 to 5 with a caregiver, and siblings are welcome to participate. Registration is available to reserve a spot. There is no fee to attend, and an optional $5 contribution per class can help cover snacks, supplies, and use of the space.

Cacao & Community

A community-centered gathering invites participants to slow down over a shared cup of ceremonial cacao. There is no requirement to share and no need to arrive with answers, only a willingness to be present. The flow moves from sipping cacao to reflection, then into meditation, and closes with sound. Discovering the Writer in Me (a Me & My Grown-Up Experience)

Designed as a Me & My Grown-Up experience, this child-led workshop invites young creators to uncover their inner author through storytelling and illustration while a supportive adult provides help and encouragement. Across two 90-minute sessions, imagination takes the lead as participants craft words and pictures, reconnect with real books away from screens, and share meaningful time together celebrating the art of story.

Heart Centered Somatic Event with Cacao & Soundbath

Laura and Jen come together for a heart-centered somatic gathering featuring ceremonial cacao and a soothing sound bath. Attendees will enjoy warm cacao prepared with loving intention, turn inward to connect with the heart, spend time journaling, and engage in gentle somatic practices focused on the heart chakra. It is designed to help participants slow down, turn inward, and make room for reflection before taking the next step. The experience blends ceremonial cacao, a guided meditation, gentle breathwork, restorative yoga, journaling prompts, and a soothing sound bath. Space is limited, so purchasing tickets in advance is recommended. The ticket price is $55. The intention is not reinvention, but quieting the noise long enough to reconnect with who you already are. Infant Bereavement Support Group – August Session

A supportive group for those grieving the loss of an infant at birth or shortly after. Participants may share their story when ready or listen quietly while connecting with others who understand. A licensed clinical social worker who specializes in women’s and newborn health and has extensive experience in bereavement care facilitates the discussion. The gathering takes place at St. George Regional Hospital in the North Tower Conference Room, Building 1 on the main floor.
