An interactive kitchen class designed with busy moms in mind focuses on practical ways to feed a family using simple, seasonal ingredients and a clear approach to dinner. Participants will learn a straightforward three-part method that blends creamy, sweet, and a savory or fat component using what is already on hand. Two sauces created together as teaching examples are tailored for kids, and everyone leaves with jars ready to use along with a guide to revisit whenever needed. Base CampFREE CONCERT Gentleman Brawlers - Levitt AMP Harrisonburg Music Series
The summer Levitt AMP Harrisonburg Music Series continues in the grassy area by Turner Pavilion with a free performance from Brooklyn’s Gentleman Brawlers. This ensemble delivers high-energy, community-centered shows that blur the line between concert and celebration, weaving Afrofunk and indie dance with disco accents, bright highlife guitar, and layered polyrhythms influenced by West African, Trinidadian, and Brazilian traditions. Expect driving grooves, plenty of movement, and a genre-spanning set brought vividly to life on stage. This concert is part of a national initiative of the Levitt Family Foundation, which collaborates with changemakers and nonprofits to strengthen communities through free live music in outdoor public spaces. In 2026 the foundation is helping present more than 900 free performances in over 90 communities across the country and is also investing in partnerships, field-building efforts, and research that support thriving music ecosystems.
