Ink and Collage Class with Guest Artist Cornelia Marin

Discover the creative range of ink and collage in a hands-on workshop guided by European guest artist Cornelia Marin. Explore how drawing, painting, and assemblage can overlap as you practice balancing control with chance, pairing thoughtful composition with intuitive layering. Work in monochrome or bold color while experimenting freely, taking creative risks, and learning how varied materials can come together as a unified piece. No previous experience is necessary, only curiosity and a willingness to explore. Cornelia Marin, originally from Deva in Transylvania and based in France for more than three decades, often centers the female form in work that is expressive and dynamic. Her multimedia practice spans inks, oils, pastels, acrylics, collage, ceramics, and mosaics. First connected to Roanoke through the Roanoke Saint-Lo Sister City Group, she returns regularly to share her skills and support artistic exchange between cultures. Registration is required. Members pay $35 and the general public pays $40.

A beginner-friendly tie-dye class with A Little Bit Hippy welcomes all ages. All necessary supplies and guidance are provided to help participants create unique designs. The fee is $10 per person and covers dyeing one item. Participants should bring their own clean, pre-washed items. Additional pieces can be dyed for $5 each to cover dye costs, and a variety of blank items is available for purchase if needed. The activity typically takes about 30 minutes. This is a walk-in class with no registration or appointment required, and optional sign-up is also available on Eventbrite.
