At The Salem Civic Center, Tire Rack Street Survival offers a hands-on, real-world driving school for teen drivers focused on vehicle control at the limits. Participants use their own cars to apply driving physics, strengthen decision making, react more quickly, and build awareness that helps them anticipate the actions of others. The program is designed to give young drivers practical skills that support safer everyday driving. The course fee is $175. The day blends classroom learning with extensive in-car coaching. Students spend roughly two hours across three classroom sessions, then devote the rest of the day to coached driving in their vehicles. On course, they practice skid recovery on a wet skid pad, quick lane changes for crash avoidance, threshold braking with ABS, and a slalom that highlights weight transfer. When possible, two wheels off and tailgating drills are included. Classroom topics include proper seating and hand position, mirror setup, how the tire contact patch works, the principles of weight transfer, using long-range vision, and situational awareness. Instructors also tackle common distractions such as music, phone use for calls or texts, and carrying multiple teen passengers. Additional demonstrations may be offered. A semi truck may be staged with cars around it to show how many vehicles disappear in its blind spots, with students and adults sitting in the cab to experience the limited view. An airbag deployment may also be demonstrated to reinforce safe hand placement on the wheel. It is a full day, with minor schedule differences by location. Lunch is provided for students, parents, and volunteers, and educational demonstrations may take place during that time. Parents are welcome to spend the day, observe the classroom portions, and speak with instructors, who are available throughout to answer questions about the activities students are completing.

Celebrate the season with an Elf Escape themed Parent Night Out that gives kids a festive night of activities while caregivers take a break. Children can dive into holiday creativity by making decorations, elf hats, and keepsakes, then jump into games and challenges like a toy factory style obstacle course, candy cane relays, and elf-inspired puzzles. All Date Nights are designed for children who are fully potty trained and older, and include a pizza dinner, crafts, structured learning, and free play. Coaches are safety certified and focused on creating a fun, well-supervised experience. This event is open to members and non-members, with pricing set at $25 per person for members and $35 per person for non-members. It takes place at the LSC location on the third floor of the Lancerlot Sports Complex. Cancellations made 14 or more days in advance are eligible for a full refund by emailing LSC@prestige-gymnastics.com, and requests made less than 13 days before the event are not refundable due to planning needs and minimum headcounts. For participation, potty trained means being able to fully use the restroom, wipe, flush, undress and redress, and wash hands independently, and the program recognizes this as typically age 4.
