The Back of the Pack program supports athletes with higher average paces so they can compete with peers and collect series points. Course maps are available. Live results will be accessible during the event with an on-site QR code, and final results with series points will be posted afterward. Awards recognize the top three men and women overall, plus first and second place male and female finishers in the following age groups, 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 plus, with overall winners not also receiving age group awards. Hydration support includes three water stations on the 10k course near miles 1.55, 3.1 and 4.65, and one on the 5k near mile 1.55, with Gatorade available at some stations. Restrooms are available at the park. Packet pickup takes place at the event, and on-site registration is offered though shirt sizes are not guaranteed for those who sign up there. Medal and shirt designs will be shared by the organizer once approved. Event photos captured by staff will be posted on social media after the race, and a weekly social media challenge highlights a favorite post from the previous race weekend for a 50 percent discount on a future race. Parking is available at Mount Trashmore. The organizer holds races in most weather conditions and will notify registered participants if plans change. A week-long motorcycle ride heads to Niagara Falls in upstate New York near Buffalo, with the group meeting at Wawa under the leadership of Road Captain Regie F. and Sweep RC Mike F. The route covers about 554 miles one way and 1,108 miles round trip, with the first two days planned at approximately 323 and 231 miles. An early lunch stop is set at a strip mall featuring Salvadorian, Thai, Afghan kabob, and pizza options. Along the way, riders will stop at the Zippo Factory in Bradford, Pennsylvania, where a Zippo lighter can be brought for same-day repair. At the destination, time is planned on the American side of the falls, and those carrying a passport can also explore the Canadian side after reviewing entry requirements. The itinerary includes Wayne Gretzky Estates for dining and distillery experiences, a visit to the 185th Erie County Fair with expansive grounds, concerts, exhibits, agricultural competitions, vendors, and plenty of food, and a scenic ride capped with lunch at Anchor Bar, widely credited with creating Buffalo wings. Lodging plans include an overnight stop at a Super 8 in Bedford with a block held under Reginald F. The extended stay near Buffalo is at the Red Roof Inn in Hamburg at a nightly rate plus tax, with names added at check-in when presenting a credit card. For the return leg, the Super 8 in Hancock is already full for some riders, and others can book at the Holiday Inn Express in Clear Spring, where rooms are currently available and not blocked. Participants are expected to arrive with a full fuel tank, dress for the weather, and bring E‑ZPass. This is a closed ride for Ironclad HOG members with one guest per member. Impairing substances are not permitted during a chapter ride, and riders must also be free of their effects.

A free, Halloween-themed paddle organized by Coastal Virginia Paddlers welcomes witches, warlocks, and paddling enthusiasts to the Owls Creek boat launch. Participants must bring their own equipment and have a life preserver on their board to take part. On arrival, paddlers check in at the COVA Paddlers table, may opt into a costume contest, and can enjoy complimentary coffee and donuts while supplies last. Before heading out, a volunteer judge organizes photos of contest entrants along with a group picture. The route features a relaxed paddle toward the Virginia Aquarium, where staff may snap photos as the group passes, then continues toward the Rudee Inlet Bridge before returning. Anyone who prefers a shorter outing may turn back at any time. After returning to the kayak launch, the costume contest winner is announced and the event wraps up. An optional after party takes place at Ocean Eddie’s Seafood Restaurant on the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier, and a portion of proceeds benefits Edmarc Children’s Hospice. Donations to Edmarc are appreciated but not required, with additional ways to give noted on the event page. For those without equipment, a rental partner is planned and details will be announced.
