Davy Knowles
Open to all ages, this performance spotlights Davy Knowles, a guitarist and songwriter recognized for a distinct voice across acoustic, mandolin, National steel, and high-powered electric styles. He first drew wide attention with Back Door Slam’s 2007 debut Roll Away, then followed with Coming Up For Air produced by Peter Frampton. Since then he has toured with and shared stages with artists such as Jeff Beck, The Who, Joe Bonamassa, Kid Rock, Lynyrd Skynyrd, George Thorogood, Brian Setzer, the Sammy Hagar led supergroup Chickenfoot, and Joe Satriani. His albums have reached the upper tier of the Billboard Blues chart, and his television appearances include Jimmy Kimmel Live and CBS Good Morning America. His reach has even extended beyond Earth, performing live to the International Space Station from mission control in Houston while astronauts Nicole Stott and Ron Garan carried his music on their missions. Expect a set that can range from the classic rock punch of Three Miles From Avalon to the raw acoustic pulse of 1932 and the reflective folk of 2023’s If I Should Wander. Whether playing solo with an acoustic guitar or leading a blues rock trio with a well worn Telecaster, he brings a versatile and commanding presence onstage.
Higher GroundThe Devil Makes Three
The Devil Makes Three blends the grit of folk, the soul of blues, and the bite of punk into a raw, acoustic sound that moves with energy and heart. For more than two decades, this trio has been a force in American roots music, known for performances that keep audiences engaged from start to finish. Founded in Santa Cruz by Pete Bernhard and Cooper McBean, the current lineup features longtime collaborator MorganEve Swain on upright bass and vocals. The band has released seven studio albums and three live recordings. Their newest album, Spirits, takes a back-to-basics approach with producer Ted Hutt and digs into themes of grief, addiction, division, and resilience, with songs such as Lights on Me, Spirits, Half as High, and Divide and Conquer reflecting both personal loss and broader social tensions. Recorded at Dreamland, a former church studio near Woodstock, the sessions carry a reflective, stormy mood. Even with weighty subject matter, the music remains rhythm driven and celebratory, bringing together a devoted and diverse crowd. This event is open to all ages. A two day pass is available.

Liz Cooper
Vermont-based singer and songwriter Liz Cooper appears for an all-ages show shaped by a time of change and creative risk. Her third album, New Day, emerged from a move to New York, the disruption of the pandemic, and the beginnings and end of her first queer relationship. The record marks a turning point in both sound and spirit, diving into psychedelic pop and the self-assurance that can follow deep reflection. She wrote many of these songs alone at home, learning to trust her own instincts, then stepped into the producer role for the first time alongside Dan Molad, known for work with Lucius and JD McPherson. Together they pushed her guitar into unfamiliar territory with studio experimentation, routing it through a Kaoss pad, capturing tones by moving a microphone through the room, and visiting the War on Drugs studio to record the thunder of Marshall stacks. The approach emphasized process as much as performance, which opened up playful and unexpected textures. After nearly a decade in Nashville, Cooper landed in Brooklyn just as venues went quiet. During lockdown she taught herself piano, writing as she learned and discovering a new creative voice when amplified guitars were not practical. Sessions with Molad in Los Angeles followed, including the first cut, Boy Toy, a bold new wave burst co-written on a whim with Caroline Kingsbury that affirms her confidence as an openly queer artist. Early Beck albums informed the record’s crisp contrasts, from the title track’s fuzzed bass, shimmering synths, and binaural background vocals to the swelling piano and strings of IDFK, a nod to Lou Reed’s Coney Island Baby. Sorry (That I Love You) maps the peaks and valleys of a strained romance over warm, vintage-leaning guitar and bass, and Baby Steps closes with resilient hope. The music captures continuing discoveries about identity, growth, and possibility, leaving room for the many versions of herself still to come. Open to all ages.

The Venetian Soda LoungeMakaya McCraven
Makaya McCraven appears with a boundary-blurring performance shaped by improvisation, sampling, and a deep connection to jazz-rooted, folk-influenced music. His latest release, In These Times, crowns more than seven years of writing, recording, and refinement, adding a standout chapter to his acclaimed catalog. Profiled by outlets such as Vice, Rolling Stone, the Guardian, and NPR, he is widely recognized for work that bridges eras and styles while keeping improvisation at the center. Born in Paris to Hungarian singer and flutist Ágnes Zsigmondi and American jazz drummer Stephen McCraven, he grew up in western Massachusetts amid a creative community that included artists like Marion Brown, Yusef Lateef, and Archie Shepp, alongside North African Gnawa traditions and Eastern European folk influences from his mother. A child of the nineties, he also drew inspiration from sample-based hip-hop and the connections between classic jazz recordings and producers such as Pete Rock. After co-founding the jazz-hip hop group Cold Duck Complex, which opened for The Pharcyde, Digable Planets, and the Wu-Tang Clan, he moved to Chicago in 2006 with Nitasha Tamar Sharma and became an adaptable presence across both creative and straight-ahead scenes, performing with Willie Pickens, Marquis Hill, and Jeff Parker. Work with International Anthem began in 2011 and led to live sessions that formed the double LP In The Moment in 2015. He refined his process on Highly Rare, Where We Come From (CHICAGOxLONDON Mixtape), and Universal Beings, the latter uniting players from Chicago, New York, London, and Los Angeles including Nubya Garcia, Shabaka Hutchings, Junius Paul, Tomeka Reid, Anna Butterss, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Brandee Younger, and Dezron Douglas. Subsequent projects include We’re New Again: A Reimagining by Makaya McCraven, Universal Beings E+F Sides, and Deciphering the Message, with large-ensemble performances helping shape the scope of In These Times. This event is open to all ages.

Vermont Comedy ClubVIAL
VIAL, a Minneapolis band that came together in 2019 after connecting through a Tinder post, draws on the grit of 90s punk alongside indie and grunge influences. Their debut, Grow Up, quickly earned attention in their hometown, followed by a 2021 signing to LA’s Get Better Records and the full-length Loudmouth, which pushed beyond indie pop and alt rock into sharper territory. Burnout kept a playful streak while leaning harder into themes of betrayal and teen turmoil, reflecting a more fractured world. Their fourth record, HELLHOUND, drops the guard almost entirely, with a brief wink in the title interlude before a barrage of songs fueled by deceit, revenge, frustration, and venom from start to finish. Produced by Martin Cooke, whose credits include work with Death Cab For Cutie, Of Monsters And Men, and Destroy Boys, the album pulls from vintage punk, classic metal, and everything in between. The first single targets disrespect without softening its blows, and another track turns that fury inward. Beyond the music, the band backs causes such as gender equality, abortion rights, Indigenous arts, and refugee support by directing funds to these efforts. This event is all ages.

Standings are determined by comparing each player’s best four weeks against everyone else’s best four, using pingolf scoring throughout. When the regular season ends, the top 16 players move on to finals and the next 16 compete in a B Division that is not IFPA sanctioned. Finals use matchplay groups with pingolf scoring, and in each round the top two players in every group advance. The highest seed in each group selects the games and the order of play, but the same game cannot be chosen more than once across the finals. There is also a team competition. After eight weeks, the four leading teams face off in their own finals, planned for the same day as the individual playoffs.

Champlain Valley ExpositionTrousdale
An all-ages performance featuring Trousdale, the harmony-driven trio of Quinn D’Andrea, Georgia Greene, and Lauren Jones. Their set centers on Growing Pains, a new album that explores change, exhaustion, courage, and matters of the heart, finding strength in shared voices and friendship. The title track sparks with electric guitar and elastic bass, and the group’s stacked harmonies carry a message of pushing through burnout and discovering beauty together. Largely recorded live and co-produced with John Mark Nelson, the project favors feel and cohesion over perfection. Nelson has co-written and produced for Suki Waterhouse and Shaboozey and engineered for Taylor Swift and Mitski. Building on the acclaim for Out of My Mind, the band sharpened their blend of indie pop and country by sketching ideas individually, then finishing them in the room together. Co-writers such as Mags Duval and Adam widened the lens, and Nelson helped them focus on the album as a whole. Secondhand Smoke inhabits the story of abuse with a chilling calm, while Over and Over captures the swirl of emotions that come with running into an ex, shifting between close-knit harmonies and standout leads. Their country colors glow through Lonely Night, which nods to LeAnn Rimes, and Want Me Back, inspired by Lady A. Across a dozen songs, Trousdale confronts loneliness, heartbreak, and loss, transforming hard seasons into uplifting, restorative music. The journey closes with Last Bloom, a reminder that after the coldest moments, something new can grow.

The 2022 follow-up Here Comes Everybody entered at number one in Australia, and the band became Triple J’s most played act that year. In 2025 they returned with their third album, If That Makes Sense, produced by Mike Crossey, known for work with Arctic Monkeys, Wolf Alice, and The 1975, and embarked on a major run across Australia, New Zealand, North America, Europe, and the UK. Higher GroundJesse Taylor Band
An all ages night features the Jesse Taylor Band, led by singer and songwriter Jesse Taylor, whose work leans into honesty, vulnerability, and deep personal reflection. A Maine native who has called Vermont home for more than a decade, she began her musical path in 2015 after leaving dental hygiene school, drawing on experiences in the service industry and on living with depression, anxiety, and ADHD to turn songwriting into a vital outlet. The band took shape in 2017 and, since 2019, has included Nick Treis on lead guitar and Ian Greenman on bass, with Carlton Yost joining on drums in 2022. Their sound blends the grit of classic rock with the warmth of modern folk, threaded with a strong 90s alt-rock influence. After an EP in 2021 and several singles, the group looks ahead to celebrating its first full-length, Feel Everything, slated for late spring 2026. Also on the bill, The Leatherbound Books push a pop-forward indie rock sound that grows louder and more electrified as they leave earlier folk roots behind. This Burlington, Vermont trio leans into big, distorted textures and catchy melodies. The Eyetraps formed when singers and guitarists Alex Frantz and Zack Shafer moved from Ohio to Vermont and teamed up with bassist Phil Smith and drummer Sophie Powell. Their self-titled debut EP channels 90s grunge and contemporary indie with thick guitars, raw vocals, and stacked harmonies that wrestle with regret, loss, and self-deception, and it arrived in August 2025.

Tortoise
Tortoise has been celebrated as one of the most influential groups of the past forty years, shaping contemporary music with a sound that draws from many directions without settling into just one. Before coming together, its members played in bands such as Eleventh Dream Day, Bastro, Slint, and Poster Children, and later explored projects including Isotope 217, Chicago Underground, and Brokeback. This broad history feeds a style that moves freely across ideas while refusing to be defined by any single approach. Formed in Chicago, the lineup features Jeff Parker, Dan Bitney, Douglas McCombs, John Herndon, and John McEntire. Since 1990 they have released seven albums, with landmarks like Millions Now Living Will Never Die, TNT, and Standards marking distinct phases in a steady, intuitive evolution. Early on they were recognized as leaders in the emerging post-rock movement, and their music has been described as engaging and exploratory, inviting listeners in while still presenting a challenge. On stage, Tortoise thrives in real time. Critics highlight their performances as both technically sharp and playfully open to new sounds, often noting the group’s reputation as a compelling live act. All ages are welcome.
