Kittitas County 4-H and Be Crash Free are partnering to offer a RideSafe dirt bike clinic designed for youth ages 8 to 18. This four-hour, hands-on session is led by certified Be Crash Free instructors and focuses on core riding skills, including getting familiar with controls, selecting and using protective gear, maintaining balance, starting and stopping, turning, and navigating simple obstacles. Instruction is age appropriate, organized in small groups, and takes place in a controlled environment with encouragement for new riders. The cost is $150 per participant. Riders must bring their own dirt bike, and those without a bike who wish to participate are encouraged to inquire about options. Required gear includes a helmet, over-the-ankle boots, long durable pants, a long-sleeve shirt or coat, gloves, and eye protection such as goggles or glasses. Registration is open, and this collaboration also supports exploration of a future Kittitas County 4-H dirt bike club.

Parade participation is free, and contest entry fees range from $5 to $10. Beginning at Suncadia’s Nelson Dairy Farm, this 5K and 10K race, along with a separate 5K walk, travels along tree-lined trails beside the Cle Elum River. The route is fast and suits both newcomers and runners chasing a personal best. After the finish, participants can enjoy refreshments, an awards ceremony with trophies and ribbons, and a free kids race and raffle. It is welcoming to runners and their families. The name comes from Stanley Kramer’s final film, The Runner Stumbles, filmed in Roslyn and Cle Elum in the late 1970s and set in a rural Roman Catholic parish. A nun wearing tennis shoes has served as the mascot for over a decade. The day also includes a firefighter-hosted all-you-can-eat breakfast, live music and a farmers market in Roslyn’s historic downtown dating to 1886, 10-hole putt-putt golf at the Dru Bru brewery, and a doggie diving and swim competition. The event is organized entirely by volunteers, with all proceeds benefiting local youth.

Guests can connect over a shared meal while supporting the work of preserving local history, heritage, and everyday moments that make this place home. The evening features dinner, a live and silent auction, and a lively Dessert Dash, along with chances to learn more about the Museum’s collections and programs and the impact of community support. UKC Bocce Tournament
Celebrate a longstanding local tradition at the fourth annual bocce tournament in Upper County, presented in partnership with the Sons & Daughters of Italy in America (OSIDA) Cle Elum Lodge. Bocce came to Kittitas County with Italian immigrants more than 130 years ago, and this gathering keeps that heritage alive with a welcoming day of games at South Cle Elum's Firemen's Park. Experienced players and newcomers are invited to form two-person teams for friendly competition and plenty of laughs. There are activities for kids and fun for the whole family. Players 16 and under may participate when paired with a teammate over 16. Lunch is included for participants and available for purchase for spectators. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.

Equestrians Institute presents its first championship dressage show at Washington State Horse Park, offering a weekend of competition with special prizes, drawings, and more. Riders can qualify by earning scores at any USEF/USDF recognized dressage show while holding current Equestrians Institute membership at the time the scores are earned. The qualifying standards are designed to welcome competitors of all ages and levels and to highlight a wide variety of horse breeds. The championship will take place immediately after the Champagne/Crystal Open Show.

At the Kittitas County Fairgrounds, local youth will showcase their skills in the annual Kittitas County Junior Horse Fair, and attendance is open to everyone. The tentative schedule includes Thursday Western Games in the Rodeo Arena, along with green horse and driving classes in the Bloom Pavilion. Friday features horse showmanship in the Bloom Pavilion, plus trail, P51, and reining. Saturday centers on horse performance classes in the Bloom Pavilion.
