Flow Fest
The third and final day of Flow Fest features a relaxed playdate with an all day flow jam in the park, along with games. In collaboration with Seattle Flowmies, this casual gathering returns to Woodland Park, Picnic Area 1 and offers time to practice skills picked up over the weekend while connecting with fellow artists. No ticket is required, and participants can bring their props, a snack, and a smile.
Woodland Park Picnic Area # 1From The Bobbin: Sewing 🧵 Workshop Series
Learn to sew from the ground up in a three-part beginner workshop for women. Hosted at Barakah Beauty Collective and led by Michaela Corning and Olayinka Ola of Ayo Collections, this series welcomes those who own a machine and love design but have not found a way to start. Expect hands-on guidance, a supportive atmosphere, and a clear path from first stitches to a finished project. Each session runs four hours and the classes take place in consecutive weeks. Participants are encouraged to bring their own sewing machines, and a small number will be available to use. Booking all three sessions together offers a $45 savings. Limited scholarships are available for those for whom cost is a barrier, and inquiries can be sent to info@barakahbeautycollective.com. The first class covers machine know-how and essential techniques, culminating in a simple pencil pouch to take home. The second focuses on garment construction, with participants creating either a caftan or a skirt and building confidence working at a larger scale. The final class is a bring-your-own-project studio where instructors help you get started, troubleshoot, and make steady progress. Registration closes 24 hours before each session begins. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the start of a session are not refundable.
Barakah Beauty Collective2nd Sundays at 2: feat. PlaceHolder 5/10/26
A free monthly music gathering at The Lab at 1010 within the Seattle Drum School of Music in Georgetown brings young musicians together to perform, jam, and connect. This edition features PlaceHolder, an alt rock power trio inspired by bands like Smashing Pumpkins and Title Fight. Their sound blends hard-hitting instrumentals with melodic vocals and heartfelt lyrics, and they are currently working toward a debut EP of original songs. Find them on Instagram at @placeholderseattle. Each month follows a three-part flow. It starts with an open mic supported by a ready-to-play backline, continues with a spotlight set from a featured act that includes at least one member under 21, and closes with a spontaneous group improvisation where a band comes together on the spot. The venue offers free parking and is on the bus line. A livestream will be available on YouTube. This program is supported by 4Culture and Allen Family Philanthropies.
Seattle Drum School of MusicGarden of Loves
Anchored by Argentine composer Carlos Guastavino’s Indianas, this season finale turns toward what we hold dear. The program traces the richness of love and life through connection with nature and with one another, and savors the joy of new inspiration. Music by Guastavino, Astor Piazzolla, Modesta Bor, and additional composers invites encounters with the sublime, from a roaming spirit to wind-swept pines to the gentle glow of dawn.
