Musical Movers Storytime

The Winnebago Area Literacy Council welcomes Dr. Lucero Estrella, Assistant Professor of Ethnic Studies at Lawrence University. Dr. Estrella will discuss the history of Asian migrants and the Asian-Latino borderlands, drawing from her work with communities in northern Mexico and Texas. This is an under-explored story.

UTV Service Workshop-Trail Essentials and Trailside Repairs

This seminar helps UTV riders prepare for the trail by covering essential gear for any ride and practical tips for making quick repairs if a breakdown happens. Matt and Luke guide participants through topics ranging from basic maintenance to more advanced techniques. A Happy Hour and dinner take place before the workshop. Seating is limited.

Third Annual Pups on the Runway

Hosted at Becket's Restaurant, the third annual Pups on the Runway supports Phoenix, the facility dog at Day by Day Shelter. Families and their dogs are invited to a dog expo, a book signing, raffle baskets and a silent auction, plus a runway showcase where pets and their people model spring looks and accessories from local boutiques. Admission is $20 per person, and children attend free. New this year, the first 300 attendees receive a complimentary rescue dog book by local author Carmen Leal, whose titles include I Chose You and When Love Wags a Tail. Expect more than twenty dog-focused vendors and free food from local restaurants, along with plenty of canine companionship throughout the festivities. Wine Bottle Planter Class

Create a self-watering planter from a wine bottle in this family glass studio class. Participants learn to score the glass and use controlled heating and cooling to separate the bottle, then smooth the cut edges for safety. After preparing the pieces, the planter is assembled and seeds can be added if desired. All skill levels are welcome. Instruction is provided by Taylor Moeller-Roy. An additional monthly Silent Book Club gathering in Oshkosh offers an allergy friendly option. It is held at Planet Perk in the main cafe instead of the cat cafe. Attendees bring a book of their choice, spend about an hour reading quietly, and then enjoy a casual conversation about what everyone is reading.

Wisconsin's Gangster Past

At Oshkosh Public Library, author and researcher Chad Lewis explores a time when Wisconsin served as a hideout for some of America’s most notorious gangsters. He shares stories of trips north that still erupted into shootouts and other illegal activity, tracing the crimes that made these figures infamous. The presentation offers an energetic look at this chapter of Wisconsin history.

Thursday Star Wars Legion Night

An open play session for Star Wars Legion with the local community. All experience levels and any point values are welcome. It is suitable for those learning the game as well as players preparing for tournaments. Tables and terrain are provided, and organized play promos will be available upon release.

Grandmother Willow ~ Art Class

This intermediate-level art class guides participants through painting a willow tree that incorporates a cheerful grandmother’s face to celebrate Earth Day. The design highlights the graceful movement of branches and leaves. The session takes place in the Puuurk Club, the back room at Planet Perk, where adoptable cats will roam the space during the class. Wear clothing suitable for painting. Parking is available in the main lot in front of Planet Perk.

This plogging run and walk features Fusion Footwear, Running Water City, and Run Neenah. Participants will pick up trash while moving along an enjoyable route, with prizes for those who collect the most garbage. A HYLO shoe demo is also planned, showcasing the latest models that are billed as the most sustainable on the market today.

For one evening, gardening returns to its roots in Wauwatosa with a hands-on seed starting workshop at Lion’s Tail Brewing Co. Wauwatosa. The session honors the building’s history as Wisconsin Garden & Pet and celebrates the joy of growing something beautiful. Designed for busy schedules and curious beginners, it welcomes anyone interested in flowers for bouquets or in slowing down to learn practical skills. Participants will practice simple, beginner friendly techniques and head home with seeded trays they prepared themselves, along with a deeper connection to Wauwatosa’s gardening heritage. Old 41 Saloon Run - 4/23

The run is shifting to Old 41 Saloon for an approximately four mile outing. The venue has welcomed the group, and there are plans to hang out afterward. If the weather cooperates, the outdoor patio will be available. The route is being finalized and will be shared soon. Native American Cuisine Cooking Class with Chef Walks First

Meet and cook with Jessica Pamonicutt, also known as Oneyaw Neskehsak (Bright Eyes), the Executive Chef & Owner of Ketapanen Kitchen, Chicago’s first and only Native American Pop-Up Kitchen & Catering Company. Jessica is a classically trained Chef from Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts and an enrolled member of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin. She will share her love of cooking, which she learned from her mother, who taught her that food is the centerpiece of life, nourishing not only our bodies but also our souls. Jessicas vision and mission is to bring Indigenous Cuisine to the forefront, educating people about the contributions of Indigenous people to our current food chain, and serving healthy food, using organic and GMO-free ingredients, as well as free-range and grass-fed meats, sourced from Native or Tribal owned businesses and local farmers markets. In an industry that has been predominantly male-led, Jessica is currently the only Native American Woman Executive Chef in the Midwest and 1 of 7 across the country.

The annual bingo night is a popular, family friendly school event. Tickets are not yet available. The event fills to capacity and walk-in entry will not be offered, so registration should be completed promptly once signups open. This information is shared alongside other PSC activities and fundraisers that families can choose to participate in if interested. Partner organizations provide CTE PSC a portion of the proceeds, offering options that support the school while connecting the community with local businesses. There is no obligation to attend, and because some activities may occur around the same time, these details are shared to highlight interactive and entertaining things to do in and around Oshkosh.

Peacock/Flower Stoneware Bowls

Participants design peacock or floral stoneware bowls to keep or give as gifts. Choose between a cereal bowl for $54 or a serving bowl for $65, with a selection of unique one-of-a-kind pieces available at individually marked prices. All tools and step-by-step instruction are provided so the focus stays on creativity. Plan for about two hours to paint, and allow extra time for larger pieces or more detailed designs. A $10 reservation fee is credited toward the project cost on the day of the event. Refreshments are available, including soda, beer, hard soda, and hard seltzers.

This event features a Modern format tournament run as a Swiss event with up to four rounds. The entry fee is $8. Players earn a prize pack from standard sets for each match win, excluding universes beyond. Promo packs are handed out to top finishers.

Phantom of the Opera (1925)

Friday Fright Night spotlights the classic chiller Phantom of the Opera, following a tormented, disfigured composer and his fixation on a young opera singer. Starring horror favorite Lon Cheney, this landmark helped launch the Universal Monsters legacy. Admission is free. Audience jokes are welcome, just keep them at a considerate volume. All purchases at Time Community Theater are cash only. Pre-sales are cut off well ahead of each show.

Spring Series Tournament 16

This series runs for 16 weeks. Players who shoot in at least eight of those weeks qualify for the final, which uses an A/B format and offers a guaranteed $1500 payout. A Trip Shot is available each week for participants entered in the tournament. Entry is $12, LOD, Chicago style. Registration takes place before play begins, and tournament play starts shortly afterward.

Competitors can take part in a 120-player Fortnite Solos tournament on PS5, step into the Edge VR Virtual Reality Arena, enter the Renewal by Andersen Geometry Dash competition as many times as they like, and explore additional games in the Plexus Tech Lab and G3 Lair. The Brazilian Twins, B2wins, are returning to their native Brazil after many years calling Iowa home. This screening at Time Community Theater features the film adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd Weber musical, directed by Joel Schumacher and starring Gerard Butler and Emily Rossum. Reiki II for Self Care and Care of Loved Ones

Reiki II builds on the foundations of Reiki I and introduces advanced practices that strengthen the flow of healing energy. Participants explore ways to care for themselves and to support loved ones through techniques that reach deeper layers of emotional and mental well-being. The curriculum includes the Reiki II attunement for a stronger connection to Reiki, a self-care manual, instruction on the symbol used for distance work, and six additional symbols that enhance a Reiki session. Ongoing use of these methods can ease stress, encourage relaxation, and help restore emotional balance. When shared with family and friends, they can also create a nurturing atmosphere that supports others through physical or emotional challenges. Brat Fry Fundraiser

Bratwurst, hot dogs, and burgers will be served by youth and adults from the congregation at a Brat Fry taking place at Festival Foods in Neenah. Proceeds benefit a scholarship fund that helps send youth and families to summer camp, weekend retreats, and youth mission trips, creating meaningful opportunities for participants.

Spring Wine Walk

Sample a variety of wines while exploring local shops and boutiques throughout downtown Neenah. Multiple locations across the district will offer tastings, providing a chance to welcome the season, connect with friends, and experience downtown Neenah. A designated driver or nonalcoholic ticket option is available. Attendees must be 21, and the name on the event registration must match the name on the ID presented at registration to receive a wristband and participate. Wine is served in 2 ounce samples, and cups must be emptied and discarded before leaving each stop. Open intoxicants are not permitted in public spaces. Servers will stamp passports, with a limit of one sample per location per attendee. Plan to eat during the day to avoid drinking on an empty stomach, and consider choosing a restaurant in downtown Neenah. Cross streets at crosswalks and drink responsibly. Service may be refused to anyone who appears intoxicated.

Becket's Pinewood Derby!!!

This event features the chance to build and race a pinewood derby car on a true regulation track. A cash bar will be available, and 100 percent of proceeds benefit International Youth Sailing of Oshkosh. Registration is $20 and includes a car kit, available for pickup at becket's or to order online. Two classes are offered. The regulation class follows official rules, with cars weighed and then stored securely before racing. The open class welcomes any style or modification with no limits. Prizes will be awarded in each class to the fastest first, second, and third place finishers, along with awards for best overall car and for the ugliest entry.

Riftbound: Summoner Skirmish- April

The second Spiritforged Summoner Skirmish features competitive play with favorite Legends and a prize lineup that rewards performance and participation. The champion earns a playmat and a round 1 bye at a Regional Qualifier, with an exclusive promo for all Top 8 finishers. Every participant receives promos and one participation pack of Spiritforged, and there is a pack awarded for each match win. The entry fee is $14.99 plus tax. Matches are 1v1 constructed and played best of three. The tournament uses Swiss rounds with a possible top cut based on attendance. With 8 players there are three rounds and no cut, with 9 to 16 players there are four rounds with a top 4 cut, and with 17 to 32 players there are five rounds with a top 8 cut.

Girls between 13 and 18 years old can discover aviation as a potential hobby or career. This event will introduce participants to the joys of flight, provide hands-on experiences with fabrication and avionics, and inspire them to explore aviations many facets. Planned activities may include hearing from women who love aviation, experiencing flight, practicing basic flight maneuvers on simulators, learning about the physics of flight while building an RC airplane, developing coding skills, and touring the air traffic control tower.

Cribbage Tournament

Spend Sunday playing cribbage against other participants in a friendly, competitive setting. Games are one-on-one, with a round robin against every opponent when there are eight or fewer players. If turnout exceeds eight, the format shifts to a bracket so matches keep moving. Drink specials and a food menu are available. Participate in more than six weeks to qualify for the final. Build watercolor skills in a welcoming workshop suited to beginners and artists of any experience level. A program centered on the feeling of belonging forms the third installment of an Antonín Dvořák symphony cycle. Dvořák’s pastoral Eighth Symphony anchors the concert with joyful spirit and a sense of shared humanity. Also featured are the UWO choirs under the direction of Dr. Kristin Ramseyer, presenting two choral works by Johannes Brahms, Nänie and Schicksalslied, reflective pieces that carry themes of beauty, hope, and common experience. The event draws inspiration from Romanesque architecture in Oshkosh, with landmarks such as Trinity Episcopal Church and United Methodist Church guiding its concept. Like those monumental spaces that welcome community and offer refuge, the music is shaped to evoke unity, connection, and a shared place of gathering.

Paint with Puppies

At Fire Escape, enjoy a creative painting session alongside visiting puppies while supporting Our Pack Animal Rescue in New London. Participants can choose any project to paint, with prices varying, or opt for a “Home is Where the Dog Is” sign at checkout. The $8 registration fee is donated in full to the rescue, and pottery costs are separate. After guests select a project and settle in, about five puppies visit for roughly an hour and a half, making the rounds to each table for short interactions. The lineup may change if any pups are adopted beforehand. Capacity is limited and the event is expected to fill quickly. As a fundraiser, attendees are encouraged to purchase and paint items during the event because a portion of sales directly supports the rescue, and pieces should be completed during that time rather than finished later.

Hummingbird & Beebalm Art Class

This art class focuses on painting a hummingbird with beebalm against a soft, out-of-focus floral background. No stencils are used, so every element is created freehand, a style that often leads to whimsical results. The project is completed on a 9×12 canvas panel and is intended for an intermediate skill level. Wear clothes that are comfortable for painting. The class takes place in Planet Perk’s back room, the Puuurk Club, where adoptable cats may be roaming as you work. Parking is available in the main lot at the front of Planet Perk.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Locals - Genesys

This Yu-Gi-Oh! locals event features the Genesys format with a $5 entry fee. The tournament uses Swiss rounds determined by the number of players. Each participant receives an OTS pack with entry, and a booster pack is awarded for every round win. Top finishers also receive OTS packs.

Growing our Gardens - Part 1 Seedlings & Containers

This free event offers shared sprouted plants and seeds, helpful guidance on how to grow them, and a woodworking demonstration on building stands for container gardens. First, participants learn about housing models, design features, and support options that help adults with A/I/DD live successfully in the community. Glass Studio Class: Stringers and Line Art

Explore line as a core design element in fused glass while working with slender glass stringers. Participants will warm and bend stringers over candle flames, then place the lines on either the front or back of a piece to achieve different looks. Create a finished work sized either 6.5 by 6.5 inches or 4 by 11 inches. This class welcomes all experience levels and is led by instructor Riley Seib. Parents and kids can learn to paint a fluffy guinea pig happily munching on greens. Please use your own judgment about whether your child can focus on the subject for about an hour and a half and treat the adoptable cats in the room with kindness. Set out from Winnebago Bicycle for an overnight bikepacking ride to La Sage Bottoms. Presented by Inner City Sounds and Jambalaya Arts, this Indigenous arts and music festival centers culture, community building, and diversity through live performances and creative expression. Art vendors will offer authentic Indigenous artwork, creating a chance to connect with makers and learn about their work. Paynes Point Hook & Spear Fishing Club, Inc.

34th Annual Members Fishing Derby!

Members of the Paynes Point Hook & Spear Fishing Club can take part in a friendly fishing derby across Lake Winnebago, Lake Butte des Morts, Lake Winneconne, Lake Poygan and their connecting channels, as well as the Fox and Wolf rivers, with no assigned launch site. Entry is $15 per angler, and children who fish with an adult participate for free. Memberships are available through the club’s website or at Mikee’s Paynes Point Bar. Weigh-in takes place at the Paynes Point Hook and Spear Clubhouse, and anglers must be present to be eligible for prizes. Awards are given for first through third place in each species by weight, with ties decided by length. The size of prizes depends on the number of entries, and all funds collected support prizes and food. Food will be available to contestants, and refreshments will be offered for a small donation. Species categories include perch, white bass, crappie, bluegill and sunfish, and walleyes measuring at least 15 inches, plus special awards for the largest sheephead and catfish by weight. The derby runs on the honor system for the enjoyment of club members. Participants are responsible for any injuries and for their equipment, directors may inspect entries and may disqualify fish or individuals, the event will take place rain or shine, and all state and derby rules must be followed.

Create a kite-themed suncatcher at this hands-on Art Activity Day. Participants design a 4x4 inch glass kite using an assortment of pre-cut pieces and decorative accents, then choose the color for the tail, which the Glass Studio will add. All supplies and guidance are provided, the project takes about 30 minutes, and it is suitable for ages 5 and older. Finished pieces are kiln fired by the studio and will be ready for pickup two weeks after Art Activity Day. This long-running program has been welcoming visitors for more than a decade, and free creative projects are also available in the galleries.

Reading the Rainbow Book Club

Participants move station to station through professional-style evaluations covering speed, agility, power, explosiveness, and strength. Advancement is decided by a blend of interactive crowd voting and scores from a panel of locally known judges, and an additional finalist will be named the People’s Choice through online voting after the prelims. Shop a public marketplace where registered vendors offer goods from spaces designed for both a vehicle and merchandise. Vendor participation requires pre-registration and vendors must be at least 18 years old. Upon arrival, spaces are assigned and all vendors must be in place before shopping begins. Each setup consists of two standard parking spots intended for one vehicle and additional items, and everything must fit within those boundaries. Oversized vehicles and trailers are not allowed. For pedestrian safety, once parked in the assigned space, vehicles must remain there for the entire event. The sale or distribution of food or drink, including samples, is not permitted, and electrical service is not available. Vendors are responsible for removing unsold items and their own trash, and on-site dumpsters are reserved for customers and staff. To register as a vendor, contact the City of Neenah Parks and Recreation office. If weather is unfavorable, the event will be canceled with an effort to reschedule at a later date.

NHS Boys’ Volleyball 1st Annual Golf Fundraiser

Celebrate the NHS Boys’ Volleyball first annual golf fundraiser with a full day at Westridge Golf Course. The outing features 18 holes in a scramble format with a shotgun start. Each group receives a cart, and a light lunch will be served in the clubhouse. Individual entrants will be paired into foursomes. Beverages and extra food can be purchased on site. After the round, the After-Par Party in the clubhouse offers food, live music, a silent raffle, games and prizes. Golf entry is $400 per foursome or $110 per individual, and includes the round, cart, lunch and party access. Party-only tickets are $40 per person and include food, live music, a raffle and more. At Mineshaft Oshkosh, this gathering features an expanded vendor lineup, more prizes, and 99.5 PKR with support from Cumulus Media. The event raises funds for Mission 22 and services for veterans, with over $10,000 contributed so far toward ending veteran suicide. Mission 22 Ambassadors will be on hand to share how they support veterans. Everyone is welcome, participation is not limited to topless Jeeps, and admission is free. Activities include an RTI ramp, a Chuck a Duck competition, balance boards, 50/50 raffles, prize baskets, and card drawings that offer a 1-in-52 chance to win high value premium prizes. Enjoy food, drinks, and the large game room at The Mineshaft. Distinguished Gentleman's Ride Oshkosh

The Oshkosh edition of The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride enters its seventh year, bringing motorcyclists together in dapper style to support Movember’s work in men’s mental health and prostate cancer awareness. This global fundraiser spans more than 100 countries and has raised over $60 million. All types of bikes are welcome, participation is open to riders of all genders, and smart attire is encouraged. In recent years, the Oshkosh ride has been the largest in Wisconsin and among the biggest in the Midwest, drawing well over 100 participants and raising more than $30,000 locally. The ride is free to join, a police escort supports the route, and riders are treated to a complimentary brunch afterward. Spectators can enjoy a show-like atmosphere, with time before and after the ride to admire the bikes.

Explore Southeast Asian flavors with a casual cookbook club focused on cooking, tasting, and conversation. Browse the library’s Lucky Day Shelf or the stacks for a cookbook that fits the theme, try a few recipes at home, and, if you wish, bring a small sample of a favorite to share. Bringing food is optional, and sampling is welcome even if you do not bring a dish. This is not a potluck, but a relaxed meetup of home cooks comparing notes, swapping tips, and building kitchen confidence. Recipes do not need to come from a cookbook devoted to the theme, since a relevant chapter or a treasured family recipe also fits. EAA Wings on Strings returns to the EAA Aviation Museum for a full day of hands-on, family friendly experiences. Build a kite on site, then try it out on the grass runway at historic Pioneer Airport. As evening approaches, the festivities finish with an illuminated display featuring hot air balloons. Admission is required for all activities inside and outside the museum. EAA members receive free entry. For nonmembers, admission is 15 dollars for adults, 13 dollars for seniors ages 62 and older, 12 dollars for youths ages 6 to 18, and children 5 and under are admitted free. At The Bar - Oshkosh, athletes ages 12 to 18 can sharpen their beach volleyball skills in the sand while also focusing on mental well-being on and off the court. The clinic is organized into three training tracks so participants can learn at the right level. Newer players explore how outdoor play differs from indoor. Those with at least a year of beach experience work on shot selection, court coverage, and serving strategies. The Diligent Needle - Basic Embroidery

Learn the basics of embroidery through a friendly three part series that meets once each month. Guided by Sandy Joch, a retired home economics teacher, participants will pick up a few new stitches each session and use them to create a couple of flowers, building toward a completed Bouquet of Flowers design on linen. Every participant receives a starter kit with linen, an embroidery hoop, a needle, a marking pen, scissors, and threads to continue practicing between classes. Six Flags Great America Brigade Trip

This outing to Six Flags Great America focuses entirely on enjoying the theme park’s rides and attractions, with transportation planned in 12-passenger vans and travel to and from the Brigade. Participants ages 14 and older may explore in their own groups, while those under 14 will remain with a designated chaperone. For added safety in a large park setting, each student will be issued an AirTag so leaders can view general location if someone becomes separated, and all devices will be distributed and collected the same day. Lunch and dinner are purchased at park concessions. The park accepts card payments only, and a cash-to-card kiosk is available for conversion. Families who prefer a chaperone to manage spending money can send it in a Ziplock bag labeled with the child’s name, and funds can be stored in a locked locker. The plan includes travel to the park, time to experience the attractions, a stop at McDonald’s on the return trip that is included in the cost, and arrival back at the Brigade. Timelines are approximate due to group travel and traffic, and a text update will be sent after leaving McDonald’s. This trip is best suited to those who enjoy roller coasters and other high-thrill rides.

Spartan DEKA partners with FIRE Fitness Camp Oshkosh to present a challenge that measures, gamifies, and celebrates fitness. The event features DEKA MILE and DEKA STRONG at FIRE Fitness Camp Oshkosh in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. In DEKA MILE, participants take on ten functional training zones, each preceded by a 160 meter run for a total of one mile of running. Competitors can earn a DEKA MILE mark and use it as momentum toward DEKA FIT in 2026. Space is limited.

Waterfest Opening Night featuring Hairball + American English

Waterfest kicks off at Leach Amphitheater with performances by Hairball and American English. Standing room only VIP tickets range from $30 to $35, and general admission ranges from $15 to $20. The Brett Gelbach Annual Fun Run presented by ShoreStation

A community boating fun run honors Brett Gelbach with a full day that reflects his love of laughter, adventure, friendship, and giving back. The celebration unfolds on the Lake Winnebago chain of lakes and is based at The Sometimes at Pioneer Island Tiki Bar at Pioneer Marina, near where the Fox River flows into the lake. Boats gather in the morning for light fun and announcements, then idle to a starting point just east of Pioneer Island for a simultaneous departure to a series of partnered stop locations. An optional afternoon raft up at Streiches Sandbar includes water volleyball to the southeast of Pioneer Island, and the day wraps up back at the Tiki Bar with food and drinks, raffle items, and an evening performance by Star Six Nine under the adjacent tent. Families will find onshore activities around the Tiki Bar, including sand volleyball, bocce ball, bag toss, and ladder toss, along with open green space for taking in lake views. Restrooms are available, and a food truck serves throughout the day. Proceeds benefit a scholarship created in Brett’s name that supports young adults pursuing careers in the skilled trades, reflecting his commitment to mentoring and helping others. Sponsor support helps carry this mission forward, honoring his legacy while investing in future trades professionals.

5th Annual Honor Our Heroes Charity Golf Outing

Golfers and supporters come together at Ridgeway Country Club for the fifth annual Honor Our Heroes charity outing. The day includes 18 holes on a country club course, raffle baskets with hole prizes, and a silent auction, all in a welcoming setting. The purpose is to honor those who run toward danger, and every round played, bid placed, and sponsorship contributed helps further that mission.
