Each camper leaves with a personal cookbook filled with their favorite recipes from the week. Enrollment is limited, and participants must be at least 8 years old.
Huntington's KitchenSession III - Little Wizards Camp (Ages 5-14)
This basketball camp focuses on building strong fundamentals in a positive, high-energy setting. Greg White leads the instruction each day with support from an experienced staff and college players. Participants work on advanced skill development and take part in officiated 5-on-5 games, with competition grouped by ages 8 to 10, 11 to 12, and 13 and up. Emphasis is placed on the habits and character traits that contribute to success on and off the court. Every camper receives a T-shirt and a custom basketball, and an optional camp photo can be purchased at registration for $10. The program takes place at the Huntington YMCA (Phil Cline Building). Applications are open for the Wayne County Fair pageant, which will crown new royalty across two divisions. Winners in this division are expected to be present on opening day of the Wayne County Fair and to make appearances throughout the year. The Queens Pageant is open to ages 10 and up, and winners receive a Pink Heart sash, a crown, a fair photoshoot, and a prize package. Queens are required to attend the full run of the fair and take part in multiple appearances during the year. The Miss Queen will represent the Wayne County Fair at the West Virginia Association of Fairs and Festivals. The 5th annual glow 5K is presented by the Knights of Columbus, an organization dedicated to providing members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, communities, families, and young people. Guided by the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism, the event reflects core values of integrity, professionalism, excellence, and respect. Registration takes place in the Holy Family School gym. After checking in, participants will walk to Town Center Mall for the start, then follow a flat, fast course that loops around the outer edge of the mall parking area three times before finishing at the mall. Everyone will walk back to the gym afterward for the awards ceremony. Every registered participant receives an extra soft race shirt, and a glow necklace and bracelet are provided. This is the only glow run on the schedule this season. Entry fees range from 25 to 35 dollars, with a higher rate on race day.

The 4th annual Dolly Dash 5K Race for Reading celebrates 20 years of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in West Virginia. Participation supports the statewide book gifting program that sends free, high quality books to children from birth to age five to build early literacy, strengthen family engagement, and encourage school readiness and lifelong success. Each race registration funds one child’s annual enrollment. Registrants receive a commemorative T-shirt featuring a 20th anniversary banner. Shirt pickup is available on race day, and arrangements can be made by email for those not attending. On-site check in takes place near the starting line at the shelter by the big red tent. Huntington Children's Museum72nd Annual Antiques Show & Sale - Pilot Club of Huntington
The 72nd Annual Antiques Show and Sale, hosted by the Pilot Club of Huntington, brings professional dealers from multiple states to the Marshall Health Network Arena and Convention Center. Browse vintage and antique finds across many categories, including jewelry, glass, midcentury modern pieces, art, and collectibles at a variety of price points. The event welcomes experienced collectors, design professionals, new enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys discovering unique items. Admission is six dollars per person, cash only, and covers the full run of the show. Discounted advance tickets are available for five dollars through Pilot Club members or by phone. A silent auction will feature in-person bidding, and previews and updates are shared on social media. Over the past 71 years, this long-running effort has directed more than $600,000 to local charities. The Pilot Club of Huntington is part of Pilot International, a charitable and educational organization that supports youth development and leadership, promotes brain safety and fitness, and assists families in times of need. Now in its 14th year, this 5K is planned and hosted by students from Paul Blazer, Boyd County, and Fairview High Schools as a volunteer project through the United Way of Northeast Kentucky. Proceeds benefit UWNEK’s Bridge Builders and RAPP programs. The course is flat with long straight sections on downtown Ashland city streets, follows the official City of Ashland 5K route, and begins and ends at the Boyd County Public Library. Registration fees are tiered, starting at $25, then $30, with $35 on race day.

Now in its eighth year, this community race begins and ends at the Senior Center. The course includes an out and back stretch followed by a loop through the city’s historic district. Entry fees follow a tiered structure, starting at $25, moving to $30 during the next registration period, and reaching $35 on race day. All registrants receive a race shirt.

This gathering at Ashland’s Central Park honors those who gave their lives in service to freedom. Participants include runners, walkers, and supporters who want to encourage others along the way. The centerpiece is a circle of remembrance where the names of the fallen are read aloud, followed by purposeful steps taken in their honor through the park. There is no cost to participate. The group meets behind Crabbe Elementary within the park.
