Explore the Outdoor Classroom in Cheat Lake during open public tours that welcome families and individuals. Meet the birds currently in care and learn about the conservation of their wild counterparts, with ACCA educators on hand to answer questions. Admission is free. Clubs, schools, and other larger groups can arrange a separate visit by scheduling in advance with the organizers. Check social media for any cancellations due to inclement weather.

An evening dedicated to classic cars and community marks the launch of a summer Cruise-In series. Hosted by Dream Machines Car Club, the gathering welcomes auto enthusiasts from around the region to stroll among distinctive vehicles while enjoying nearby shops and restaurants. It is a Main Street Morgantown Affiliate Event. Main Street Morgantown is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Morgantown, West Virginia, and a National Main Street Accredited organization that has supported welcoming, vibrant and prosperous Downtown and Wharf Districts since 1984 through strategies focused on design, economic vitality, organization and promotion.

Celebrate the season at Chestnut Ridge Park & Campground with an annual Summer Solstice gathering and community potluck at the Feather Pavilion near the park office. The festivities honor the longest day of the year, the start of summer, and the achievements of students. Enjoy a knot tying contest with prizes, relax in hammocks, and bring a fishing pole, flow toys, and yard games to add to the fun. Participants in the Hamp-Out are encouraged to take part since they will already be at the park. Anyone wishing to contribute to the potluck can use the available sign-up form.
