Suncrest VillagePokémon Pinball Launch Party - Levels - Open & Women's
Levels Arcade hosts a launch celebration for Pokémon Pinball featuring separate open and women’s tournaments in a Pingolf format. Entry is $5. Qualifying is played on a five-hole course. Players are randomly placed into groups of three or four. Each hole is a single pinball machine with a target score. Your stroke count for that hole equals the number of balls it takes to hit the target. If the target is not reached by the end of the game, strokes are assigned based on how close the final score comes to the target, with a cap of six strokes per hole. Scores carry over across all rounds. Here is how scoring works using an example target on Taxi of 450,000 points. Reaching 80 to 100 percent of the target counts as 4 strokes, 60 to 79 percent counts as 5, and less than 60 percent counts as 6. In numbers, 360,000 to 449,990 results in 4 strokes, 270,000 to 359,999 results in 5, and anything from 0 to 269,999 results in 6. For the first game, play order follows the tournament software. After that, the player with the fewest strokes goes first on the next machine, followed in ascending order. The four best qualifiers move on to finals. Finals are played on three machines. The top two seeds each remove one of the five machines used in qualifying to create the three-machine finals bank. Any meaningful tie is decided with a playoff on a randomly selected machine.
