FREE Summer Youth Concert Band

A free Youth Concert Band from the Fairbanks Community Band offers local students a weekly ensemble where they can grow musically, make music with peers, and perform together. It is intended for players who have at least one to two years of experience and their own instrument, with repertoire suited to middle school and high school levels. Rehearsals are held at the Band Hall, and the program wraps up with a combined showcase featuring both the Youth Concert Band and the Youth Jazz Band.

Pericles: Prince of Tyre

Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre presents a sweeping tale that crosses seas and kingdoms, following young Prince Pericles through peril, heartbreak, and wonder on a journey toward redemption and reunion. Expect shipwrecks, brushes with pirates, spirited tournaments, lost princesses, and moments of seeming miracle in a story that blends romance, comedy, tragedy, fantasy, and adventure. Tickets are priced at $25 for adults, $20 for students, seniors, military, and first responders, $10 for youth ages 13 to 17, and free for children 12 and under. Online purchasing closes two hours before the performance, and tickets are also sold at the door. Please note that the production includes mature and potentially sensitive material, so attendees should consider their comfort level. Disability parking is available next to the stage.
