Juneau Animal Rescue’s public vaccine clinic is now appointment-only. Vaccine clinics run Tuesdays from noon to 4:30 PM, and rabies vaccines are required unless you can show a current rabies vaccination certificate in advance. Masks are required to enter the JAR lobby. If your dog is over 6 months old and has lived in the CBJ for more than 30 days, you’ll need to have an annual license, and obtaining a current license is required during your vaccine appointment. Appointments that arrive late may need to reschedule.

The environment emphasizes accessible support, community building, normalizing common challenges, and easing the postpartum period.

At the Juneau Arts & Culture Center (JACC) in Juneau, the inaugural Southeast Summerfest offers a full day devoted to local music, art, creativity, and community. Throughout the day, the venue features an artist market, a variety of food vendors, a community stage with local performers, and activities for all ages. Daytime programming is free for all to attend, creating a welcoming setting for community members and visitors to celebrate the creative spirit of Southeast Alaska. In the evening, the festival transitions to a ticketed concert fundraiser with performances by Taylor Vidic, Joel Forelines, Ocean View, and Dude Mtn. The concert supports the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council and showcases local and regional musicians. Built to uplift artists, students, and the broader community, this new celebration supports small businesses and the people who help Juneau’s arts scene thrive, with the potential to grow into a lasting local tradition.

Beat the Odds 5k celebrates 35 years at the UAS Campus Courtyard in Juneau. The event features a 5K run and a 2 mile walk. Funds raised support Cancer Connection programs that serve Southeast Alaska, including the Lynne Wunsch Memorial Travel Fund, a Seattle apartment for Cancer Connection clients, the Cancer Connection Health Forum, cancer support groups and retreats, and the "Let's Talk" peer to peer counseling program. Started in 1992 by Cathy Bressette, it later transitioned from Glacier Valley Rotary to Cancer Connection and is now the organization’s signature fundraiser. New this year are the UAS location, a live DJ, a live auction, and buy-it-now prize bundles. The first 300 registrants receive a free race tee.

At Elizabeth Peratrovich Plaza in Juneau, this Indian Independence Day celebration features a tug-of-war, a rendition of the Indian National Anthem, a Bollywood performance, music, and dancing. Restaurant specials will be available, along with other activities.
