Yellowhammer Invitational 2026
The Yellowhammer Invitational is an elite amateur golf tournament featuring top players from the United States and abroad. It’s held at Grand National’s Lake Course and will be a challenging test for a field made up primarily of college golfers. The venue has hosted major events of distinction, including NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s National Championships, LPGA and Symetra Tour events, plus other notable professional tournaments.

American narrative artist Sarah West opens her studio to aspiring creatives of every age and experience level for weekly fine art instruction. Learn alongside the artist in an immersive, education-focused studio environment at The Sarah West Gallery of Fine Art, A Center for Cultural Arts in Smiths Station, Alabama. Mid-summer enrollment welcomes new and returning students, and gift certificates are offered. Programming is available for children ages 6 to 11, youth ages 12 to 17, and adults. Enrollment includes one class each week, single sessions are one hour, and the studio track spans ten weeks, with major holidays observed. The curriculum builds core skills in drawing, color theory, painting and more. Beginners are encouraged, all skill levels are supported, and fine art supplies are included with enrollment. Tuesday Ride and Grill
This adult group trail ride at Chewacla State Park starts and finishes at the lower pavilion parking area. Riding after hours is allowed by special park permission, so night ride rules apply. Helmets are required. The route and pace adjust to the group, riders of any experience level are welcome, and no one is left behind. Park entry fees apply at the gate: $4 per person for ages 12 to 61, $2 for children 4 to 11, $2 for seniors 62 and up, free for children under 4, and free for prior or current military with ID. CAMP membership supports local trail efforts, offers benefits, and has a $39 annual fee that is tax deductible.

This hands-on pottery wheel course welcomes first-timers and those returning to the wheel, with instruction that spans beginner and intermediate techniques. Participants receive guided practice and peer support while forming, trimming, and glazing functional pieces, and may choose up to 12 works to be fired during the series. Intermediate students can request guidance on handles or lids as readiness is demonstrated. The non-refundable registration fee covers use of tools, glazes, and up to 4 pounds of clay each week.
