Boxcar Rocks: Naum and more

Three distinct voices share the stage as Naum, Proxi, and Timothy Rose come together for a night of original music. Naum began as a two piece in Alabama’s underground scene, later settling in St. Augustine, Florida, where guitarist Tristan Leahy and drummer John Oden expanded the lineup to include bassist Alec Stephens and keyboardist Grace Karger. They are a regular presence around St. Augustine, Jacksonville, and Gainesville, and have toured the East Coast. Proxi, an emerging rock band from Georgia, features vocalist Chloe Smith, whose sound has drawn comparisons to Gwen Stefani and Amy Winehouse. The group recently released an EP titled Neon that highlights strong vocal hooks and energetic melodies. Rounding out the bill is Timothy Rose, who calls himself “America’s Folk Sweetheart,” delivering solo folk with touches of emo and punk. He is sometimes labeled country, though he disagrees, and if pressed might simply call it Southeast Emo. Tickets are $5.
