YSBL presents Briscoe at Woodlawn Theatre Birmingham for an evening of expansive folk-rock rooted in American traditions. Reuniting with Grammy-nominated producer Brad Cook, they broaden their sound with larger arrangements, tight harmonies, and contributions from members of Houndmouth, Hiss Golden Messenger, Bon Iver, Mipso, and Watchhouse, channeling the spirit of the open road and the passage into adulthood shared by lifelong friends. Brunch & Soul Sunday's brings the chef's two concepts together at SLIDE Cafe, combining soul food dishes from SMOKE Bistro with an expanded brunch selection. The Intermediate Group runs around 5 miles near a ten minute pace with one brief regroup, balancing effort and camaraderie. The Fast Fun crew goes about 4.5 miles at roughly 11 to 12 minutes per mile, keeping a steady tempo without turning it into a race. The Fun Group moves for about 4 miles around a 12 minute pace, running flats and downhills, walking the climbs, and regrouping as needed. The Beginner Group completes close to 3 miles at about a 12 minute pace with additional breaks, blending run and walk segments and offering a supportive setting for newer runners or those easing back. A walk and hike option covers about 2.75 miles at a brisk clip, sometimes on the flatter BMRR South Trail and other times exploring the old mines and the Ike Maston area for added elevation. Group leaders and sweepers help participants choose the right fit and make sure no one gets left behind.
