    Fullerton Ghost Walk

HopScotch Tavern, 135 E Commonwealth Ave, Fullerton · verified Jul 31
    See details

Travel back to the late Victorian era, when the gold rush and the railroad spurred new communities and entrepreneurs carved out lives and businesses. The rural area north of Anaheim flourished and eventually took the name of George Fullerton, and within its theaters, restaurants, and shops, echoes of those early days are said to remain as ghosts. Haunted Orange County presents its seventh tour, sharing historical tales with a darker edge in this college town. Over a 90-minute walk through downtown Fullerton’s streets, side streets, and back alleys, hear accounts of actors who still seem to take their places in grand theaters and of eateries believed to host phantoms from another time. Comfortable walking shoes and a curiosity for the macabre are recommended for this exploration.

    King Kong

Maverick Theater, 110 E Walnut Ave, Fullerton
    See details

The Maverick Theater and Staged Cinema Productions present the return of an imaginative, original stage reimagining of the 1933 cinematic landmark. Guided by writer and director Brian Newell, known for Maverick favorites like Night of the Living Dead, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, and Plan 9 From Outer Space, this version embraces the spirit of the classic without retelling it beat for beat. It serves as a heartfelt nod to the groundbreaking effects that transformed moviemaking, channeling the innovation that made the original a legend. A backstage film team, nicknamed Maverick Light & Magic, captures live footage of a miniature Kong on detailed sets and blends it in real time with green screen performances. Those elements are projected across a wide rear screen, creating a living backdrop that actors interact with onstage. The result places the audience in the thick of Skull Island and the rush of New York City, delivering a playful, technically daring adventure for longtime fans and newcomers alike.

    The Kellogg House Ghost Tour

Heritage Museum of Orange County, 3001 W Harvard St, Santa Ana · verified Aug 7
    See details

In 1898, Hiram Clay Kellogg built a grand residence that ranks among Orange County’s earliest Neoclassical Victorian homes, later gifting the mansion to his second wife, Helen. Guided by his love of tall ships, he created a striking three-story spiral staircase encircling a central mast and topped by a bottomless crow’s nest. Hiram died in 1921, and Helen remained for decades before passing away in the same house. Today, reports of unexplained activity suggest the Kellogg family may still linger within this uniquely designed mansion.
