His love of tall ships shaped the design, featuring a three level spiral staircase encircling a central mast and topped with a crow’s nest that has no floor. Kellogg died in 1921, and Helen remained in the residence for another 42 years, passing away in the same house. Ongoing accounts of unusual activity suggest the Kellogg family may still linger within its uniquely crafted rooms.
