Performances are planned from Danette Christine & Rober Luis, Jeanne Newhall, Jami Lula, Jason Luckett, Joselyn & Don, J Ramada, Mary Scholz, Robbie McDonald, Ruthann Friedman, Sara Melson, Stefanie Naifeh & JP, Steve Key, and Willie Aron, with dance by Haize Hawke and Hilary Thomas, and possibly additional guests. Most artists will share one song while Jason offers a few, creating a communal tribute to enduring songs, the writers behind them, and the connections they inspire. This is a pay-what-you-can community event, with suggested options of $25 for entry, $35 for supporters, $50 for patrons who help sustain the music and space, and $10 for students or anyone with limited income.

Participants rehearse and perform shoulder to shoulder with Salastina musicians, receiving hands-on guidance in small ensembles and opportunities to take the stage in a supportive setting. Facilitated discussions explore musical life, interpretation, and craft, encouraging thoughtful exchange among a welcoming community of players from the region. Adult musicians with confident reading skills and a passion for ensemble playing are encouraged to apply.

Presented by Altadena Music Center, this monthly, free open mic offers a relaxed evening centered on music, creativity, and community. Performers and listeners are equally welcome.
